Trip of a Lifetime! by skibumss

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple

We had a wonderful cruise, we started in Australia and thought it was great but when we got to New Zealand, we were blown away by its beauty, definitely the most gorgeous country we've ever visited! The Solstice was great from stateroom, food, and entertainment - Celebrity is the best.

The Solstice was a nice... by CruisingLife79

Sail date: /

The Solstice was a nice ship. I had not cruised with Celebrity before, so I tried to make mental notes as the trip went on. I thought the crew worked very hard to keep the ship in great shape, and they constantly worked to make sure each guest was taken care of. I know the ship is due to be refurbed soon, but it was in good shape and always clean. The only small criticism I have is just that the thermal suite wasn’t really worth what they charge for it. NCL has spoiled me with their thermal experience. :)

Wonderful Hawaiian cruise by lisavin

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple

We had a fantastic cruise, food was good, ports were great with lots of time for activities. Shows were great, martini bar was the best. We felt the cruise was really geared to older people, being we are 39 and 41 we didn't know a lot of the music and found it hard to find activities we were interested in. The ship never felt overcrowded (except in the buffet) which resulted in a nice relaxing vacation. I didn't really enjoy all the time changes during the sea days to get back to Vancouver time either.

It Doesn’t Get Better by billdewitz44

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple

The cruise of a lifetime. If this is on your bucket list, make sure you check it off! Some people Say that this is a “Once in a lifetime” trip. I hope that isn’t the case with me, I would love to go back and spend more time in Alaska!

Alaska is a must see! by hdftby100

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple

The experience was great and loved Alaska. The ship was the best way to see it all, but the cruise itself was average. I recommend everyone put Alaska on their bucket list. Glad we went on it! Wildlife and nature was beautiful.

I enjoyed the sea days... by smjones1955

Sail date: /

I enjoyed the sea days because there was so much to do. I went to the talks by historian, Mary Amanda, and her husband, naturalist, Brent Nixon. There were salsa, ballroom, and line dance classes. There was a tour of the galley, classes on food preparation - I saw the steak and fish classes. There were many food choices...healthy in the spa cafe, so many choices in the ocean view cafe, and the main dining room had a chef's recommendation each night that was mostly Alaskan fish and desserts with Alaskan products. We treated ourselves to gelato on deck 5 the last day (2 scoops for $5, 4 scoops for $7 and worth every penny). We have cruised Norwegian and Carnival before and Celebrity is just a step up...like a string duo and Evergreen (guitar/vocalist Joni Mitchell style). There were so many music choices all day. The silent disco is more fun with headphones, even if you are just watching. The production shows were fun; some comedians were good, some so-so; Tribute to Buble was great. The sauna and hot tubs were very relaxing. The gym was busy early in the morning and the walking track was chilly but people were using it.

We had a great time... by terriesanchez

Sail date: /

We had a great time on Solstice! It was the most serene cruise we have ever been on. There were very few children on board and they we all young and well managed by their parents. We had an Aqua Class cabin (1664) aft. The aminities for this type cabin are numerous without the price of a suite. Of course you don't get the size of a suite, but the balcony made the cabin plenty for two. We learned that you can't assume that your champagne, fruit and canapes would be waiting for you. Our cabin steward, Al, said you had to ask for them and once you did they would arrive daily. Big shout out to Al... He was AWESOME!!! You also have to ask for the pillow menu... Loved the pillows!! We really liked that fresh tea and bottled water that were in our room every day. There was an upgraded room service menu that provided great options for those times you just wanted to chill in your room. Dining at BLU was a treat. If you don't find everything you like on the BLU menu, you can also order from the main dining room which we did each time we ate there. The best thing about BLU, aside from the food, was the small more intimate setting and the wonderful service staff! We also had dinner at Tuscan and Murano. Both were delicious and well worth the up charge. Even though the spa was included, it really wasn't what I was expecting, so we only went one day. We chose the Go Best package and it was so worth it... Unlimited Premium Drink Package... Unlimited Internet... Gratuities... $300 OBC. Our bill at the end of the cruise was $3.45😉 The entertainment on board was good and worth the time to go. We did the 7:00 show time with dinner after. We spent time in the casino after dinner each night. Unfortunately, we were not big winners. We will definitely cruise Celebrity again!

Enjoyable Alaskan Cruise by roxybabe78

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple

All in all was a beautiful cruise. Just the views of the land from the ship and off the ship was worth it. Pictures do not do the scenery justice at all. I felt so small against the majestic snow-capped mountains. The weather was beautiful at all times for our cruise. The ship was good overall. Entertainment great, food was okay to good. We may be the outliers but my husband and I are active and not huge eaters and alcohol drinkers, so being at sea for 4 days may not be the best option for us in the future. But again, we may be the exception, lots of people LOVE cruising and I would still recommend it! I miss it already!

Spectacular New Zealand Cruise. by grdcruiser4632

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)

Our overall experience was fantastic. The attendants were all superior, rooms were clean and public areas were also. The ship is going into the renovation and should update some of the older looking areas of the ship. We really enjoyed the ports of call and the tendering operations were well run. We our loyal Celebrity customers and this cruise just added to our continued loyalty. We have already signed up for our next cruise in 2021.

Big views and big crowds by jjstric

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple

Glad I did it and probably will not do it again. This is only my personal experience and may or may not be typical in every situation. Some things may be out of the control of the cruise line, ports, or there may have been extenuating circumstances. It does not matter as this is a review of how I felt about my experiences.

Amazing itinerary on beautiful ship by inekejaarda

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple

The Solstice is a great ship. It was recently modernized, though still the style is a bit outdated. But that is my personal taste. The ship is very clean. Rest room doors are opened electronically and are cleaned continuously. All staff was amazing. The itinerary was great. New Zealand and Australia folks are super friendly and relaxed.
