Best of Seven by JerryB2

Ship: Celebrity Solstice / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Staff and service was first rate. Food was excellent in variety, availability and taste. Entertainment was Vegas quality. Ports of call were good and there was not excessive pressure to take their excursions. This is our 7th cruise and the best.

Our best vacation ever by DuaneH

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Solstice / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

The Solstice is a beautiful ship. The crew was outstanding and the facilities top notch. This was our first cruise and it will be difficult to top. Celebrity takes care of the details and it shows! We will be cruising with Celebrity in the near future and will look forward to boarding the Solstice again.

Classy,Upscale fun,fab cruise! by ShannK

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Solstice / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Wow where do I start, well first of all the Ship is beautiful and classy with a modern sophisticated upscale feel. My husband and I love to travel and about three years ago decided to take a cruise once a year we have tried two other Cruise lines and have even looked into the smaller lines that are more yacht based thinking that was the only way we would be able to get a luxury feeling well, I must say Celebrity brought just that luxurious feel and fun. Starting with the stateroom and how well accommodating all I, from a well sized plasma screen TV with on free on demand movies to various hit stations for everyone listening pleasure we especially loved jazz in the day and dance at night. What was also great was our restroom was much more spacious than any other, being that my husband is fairly tall the shower and all around bath room was much more comfortable for him and myself. The bed to our surprise was very comfortable and wow the best part for me was all the storage space I was able to store our luggage under the bed hidden away without having to use closet space!!!! With great dining room and beautifully decorated to exquisite wait staff who without any problems or questions was able to accommodate what my husband had originally set up as select dinning ( set time and just us two) the staff was able to change our request on the 3rd day to a table of six and for the remainder of the trip without any problems. Now the specialty restaurants where just fabulous talk about beautiful dcor and yes great food and so much of it wow to our personal favorite 24hr room service aww how great especially after a night of dancing we needed that great food and Im talking everything from burgers to your fleshly grilled salmon. The ship itself is filled with so much to do , such as blown glass shows to their Green lawn games and entertainment to absolutely relaxing in the adult only luxury indoor spa pool with specialty healthy fresh food bar. We really enjoyed being on the ship and could have been just fine staying on the ship although we did enjoy the port o calls the ship was so beautiful and filled with so much to see and do there if one wanted to stay on or could not get off well no need, the schedules are filled with daily events from spinning and yoga in morning to various wine and scotch tasting at the Michaels club oh and the Martini bar is especially trendy and fun. Now lets get to the shops on board wow nice to see a cosmetic counter (high quality lines) and wow how did they know exactly the brand I use to fine jewelry stores and even fashion shows for entertainment, great coffee shops and absolute fab crepes bistro, and oh lets not forget the gelato bar very nice!!! Now the night clubs where just beautiful Sky lounges dcor was amazing and the dance club was also very modern with great variety of dance music, the piano bar was upscale and so relaxing and the cellar room very classy with a fine selection of wines ports etc, but I have to say at least for my husband he love the Celebrity treatment upon returning from each port o call, where you where greeted with a nice cool wet hand towel to wipe yourself clean or simply refresh after a long day of play and a refreshing drink (Juice or water). Well I could go on forever but I guess one has to see for themselves how you can feel like a Celebrity.

An Unforgettable Trip by MelissaL7

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Solstice / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

We were very impressed with the Celebrity Solstice based on many facets...the service was fantastic. From the room attendant to the dining room staff, we were treated with extreme respect in almost every situation. The ports were fantastic and the tours were informative. The boat itself was kept impeccably clean and there was a variety of activities to attract different interests at all times. We were happy it was a ten night cruise and we could enjoy and try so much over this long stay!!!

Beauty is only skin deep. by DianaS4

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Celebrity Solstice / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

We sailed from Civitavecchia for Sicily, Athens, Mykonos, Ephesus, Kusadasi, Rhodes, Santorini, Naples, and Rome. 2 years ago we did a cruise through the western Mediterannean including Palermo, Naples, Villefranche, Barcelona, Florence, Marseille, Rome and wanted to go back to Europe. The ship was beautiful, clean, plenty of elevators. Children, however, found inconsistencies in activities. Despite the fact that the guide Solstice Today did not differentiate between family, adult and children activities (or identify age groups), our kids (aged 10-19) found that they could participate in activities on one day and later were told it was "adult only." When we told guest services of this issue, we were told that the listed items were adult only (only for the 14 year old to exclaim, "look, Catholic Mass is on the list, that's adult only too!"). Turnsout we enjoyed the Grand Epernay restaurant and Tuscan Grille. We all did not like Murano (though the food presentation was great, it was not tasty). Bistro on 5 was good as well (did not try the other restaurants). Plenty of seating at Oceanview Cafe. The statement of account was not delivered to my cabin. We stayed on board as late as possible waiting for a pre-arranged taxi to the airport and it never came. 6 days after getting home, it posted to my account. Guys at the martini bar were great performers. Nice bar, ice on the counters was a nice touch. Shows were really bad. Some in our group felt they were ok but there was no story telling here. The closest thing to a story was Ghost Light b ut in my opinion it was a story told at the beginning and then a sequence of song performances (each representing a memory of a cast member) concluded by a closing. Sometimes late seating diners had shows before dining, sometimes really late afterwards. I can't speak for the earlier shows but some of the humor by the cruise director at the late night shows would not be appropriate for young children who had to see this if they were late seating dining. Rooms needed more storage. We used every drawer and hanger and space above the beds. Lucky for us we brought luggage that was sized such that they could nest in each other and then fit under the bed. No towel animals every night, just 2 animals through a 10 night cruise. Glass blowing on the lawn (aft) was great. really gets you intersted in visiting the corning museum of glass in Corning, NY.

Fantastic Mediterranean Cruise by NatalieW7423393

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Celebrity Solstice / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

Took a 10 day Mediterranean Cruise on the Celebrity Solstice. Wow-what a ship. It was like being in an exclusive resort. This was our 7th cruise and first on Celebrity. This ship had a swimming pool for adults only and the lounge chairs all had these thick cushions plus there were hanging swing chairs and lounge couches great to use and much more comfortable than any other cruise ship we have been on. The entertainment was excellent and so were the shore excursions. Seeing all those wonderful old places was so fastinating. Tour guides all did a great job as well. One of the most unique areas was the "lawn". Actual grass area on the upper deck were you could play yard games. Great feature and it really made you feel like you were not on a ship. I used the internet cafe and was able to keep in touch with our children that were back in the states. All in all this was one gorgeous ship and we had a marvelous time with this cruise.

Mixed Review by LauraB16

Sail date: / Traveled as:
Ship: Celebrity Solstice / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

The ship was wonderful, but the room we were given was not worth what we spent for it. It had a balcony which directly abutted an area for the ship's crew to work. Due to this, our view was not as expected and the privacy of the balcony and room was affected because we were never sure when the workers would be passing by. We had to keep the curtain in our room drawn for the same reason, and therfore, we basically had the equivalent of an insider room for the price of a balcony room. In my opinion, Celebrity should use these rooms only for upgrading passengers from insider or ocean view room, not for passengers paying for a balcony. We were disappointed in Cruises Only and Celebrity for this situation

The cabins were the largest I have ever seen. The ship was spotless, and the crews were constantly cleaning the bathrooms, handrails, and even the buttons on the elevator. The experience is one I will never forget!

Nice ship, disappointing cruise overall by MaryJaneS

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Solstice / Destination: Transatlantic

It appears Celebrity is being pushed by RCL into a less personalized, more "average" cruise experience in pursuit of profit. The ship is full of areas that are "extra" such as a gellatto kiosk; crepe kiosk; etc. Why charge someone $5 to eat at a crepe kiosk rather than the regular restaurant? Seems petty! Also, the Persian Garden is smaller and there is no hydrotherapy pool...all areas which we love and were the prime reason we booked into AquaClass. Disappointing! Biggest disappointment was being assigned into a specialty restaurant (BLU) as our main dining room. BLU is primarily "healthy" food...NOT why we booked into AquaClass. While we could have gone to the main dining room, it would be "hit or miss" each night with a different waiter, etc. The food selection in BLU was not acceptable to me.
