This was my second cruise and I am hooked. The Celebrity Solstice lives up to the claim of being a class above all other cruise ships. The ship itself is beautifully appointed but the real asset is the staff that go out of their way to be friendly and accommodating to all of your needs. Two examples, after the first full day of the sailing, there was a form left in the room to fill out regarding anything that was missing to make your vacation better. In our room the doors to the closet were difficult to slide and the top drawer in the bathroom was askew. I wrote that on the form and that very afternoon when I returned to my room, both were fixed! Second example, after a full day of excursion on shore in the tropical heat, there were two very long lines waiting for the transfer boats to take the travelers back to the boat. One was for the Celebrity Solstice, the other for another cruise line. As we made our way through the port gate, there were two tables set up with overhead canopies, one serving ice cold water and punch, the other handing out iced towels to all Celebrity passengers. The unfortunate travelers on the other cruise line had nothing while waiting for the transfer boat to take them to their ship. I am completely spoiled now and other than wanting to try the Royal Caribbean Oasis, I will always choose one of the Solstice class Celebrity ships for my cruise vacation.

Solstice is a very beautiful and relatively new ship. The ship is also clean with the exception for the clorine swimmimg pools. The public areas are very crowded and if you are a cigar smoker the number of smokings areas outside and inside are very limited (you can't smoke in your own varanda).

This is my fifth cruise, my first with Celebrity. Very impressed with the staff, the service, overall a wonderful experience.

Beautiful, very clean, glass elevators, friendly staff, and of course the delicious food.

This cruise was a hugh dissapointment. For a ship that is only two years old there was no elegance. The shows were at best amaturish. The staff was very few and far between. The concierge class was over rated and not worth the addional expense

We had not sailed on Celebrity in several years, but remembered the fine food and service. They did not disappoint us. The variety and quality of the food is exceptional for this mid-market ship. The balcony cabin and bathroom were exceptionally large and well maintained. We never passed any crew without them making a pleasant greeting. We especially liked the way the passengers were treated as adults. Ther were no repeated loud announcements to break the tranquility, there was an adults only solarium and outdoor pool, and no wild "pool games". Even with the more sedate atmosphere, the kids on board seemed to really be having a great time - lots of activities for them. Our only small negative was the relative lack of activities during the days. But that is very minor. We appreciated the lack of a "summer camp" atmosphere. We also liked that they did not try to sell drink and other packages every time we wanted something. They told us what was available in bar postings and let us be.

The ship is lavish, the service is amazing, the food is great, the ship activities fantastic, but the ports of call were subpar except for the Cayman Islands. The Costa Maya stop has only one reason, and that is "shopping". We hated being bombed with solicitations to buy diamonds, and the pitches from Mrs Tana regarding Diamonds International were too much to handle. How about Celebrity putting more focus on the enjoyment of the guests by means of more activities and less pressure sales?

This was our first cruise - and it was amazing. The ship was almost brand new - and spotless!

The crew were well trained, friendly and polite in all venues of the ship.

Crew were professional and friendly; never intrusive.We sailed Aqua class and would highly recommend it. The entire staff in Blu, our assigned dining room were class A professional. The food was the best cruise cusine we have had in 10 years! Innovative menu with top notch presentation. Our balcony room was a little smaller than we were used to and inefficient use of storage space proved challenging. The entertainment was wonderful; we attended 3 shows ans we usually skip them.

Solstice -5-30 thru 6-6-10; This was our 7th cruise-and 1st on Celebrity-we are trying to find a line to be loyal to--we upgraded to Concierge level; the only thing this level is worth the extra charge, was the ease in embarkment but not disembankment-the female staff member there was RUDE and not in control of the passengers-we had the Valvet service( another extra charge and we were just ushered off with the rest of the people; not impressed with much; ship colors very calming, adult pool great and the covered lounge areas were great;buffet had a good layout but the food was just average-nothing out standing-won;t use Celebrity again!

The crew on board the Solstice are friendly, courteous and always there to help, Our cruise was fully booked, yet we never felt a sense of crowds or had to wait in lines even for the buffet. Overall the ship is elegant and offers a variety of interesting settings.

This was our first cruise and we were just a little "anxious" about the experience but we were met upon boarding the ship with a glass of champagne and every thing following only impressed us even more. This was a magnificent ship, the crew was extremely pleasant, the food excellent, and our overall experience was certainly one to remember! We can't wait to "cruise" again but I am afraid we have been spoiled by our cruise on the Celebrity Solstice and any future trips will only be measured by this one!

i do not feel it's right that i could not smoke on the balcony in the open air and i was told that i could not, but on other cruise lines i was told if i did not have balcony i could not smoke and i respected that so i would book balconies from then on, and the placies they had us smokeing at had no view and it was not a nice area and when it rained you got wet, and a lot of the people who did not smoke took the chairs where you were to be smoking at and they would be where you were and a lot of people complaned and they would drink and waste it all over and a lot of people don't drink but we had to deal with that and you didn't even have a place in the casino to smoke so you stayed out of the casino and other places and because of this, but you can smell all the beer and alcohal and you don't drink and that takes away our rights as a person also, plus they could have a set floor just for smoking on the balconies and one side of the ship just for smoking they could also have ships just for that and you would have a lot more satisfied customers and maybe even more people traveling and not be so inconsiderate of those who do, but they will also sell them the carton of cigarettes to take home so now just what do you think of that, so i will not go on celebrity again unless they change there rules and then i did not find out until i got there and checked in and seen the flyer lying on the counter that i had to pick up and read, now if i had not notice the flyer, then i could have been fined thinking i could smoke on the balcony and that was not right

I feel that if you have never been on a cruise before, you will love it. However, if you have ever been on a cruise you will be quite disappointed. The service was horrible. If you wanted a drink it almost impossible to get one. You had to get up and go to the bar and get it yourself. I am use to people actually waiting on their guests and picking up dirty dishes, cups etc afterwards. It was amazing how long this took. I had a balcony room. It was very nice. The bed was made and the bathroom was kept clean. However, once again if you sat down a cup one day, it was still sitting in the same place the next. I was not happy with the treatment by the staff. I saw a guest sitting beside the pool holding a plastic cup and the guest was asked to move away from the pool. The guest was not in the pool but sitting with legs hanging over the pool. The very next day, guests were actully in the pool with beer bottles. This was brought to the attention of the staff and it was ignored. I saw a group of older guests who had moved their chairs a little due to rain and other guests joining in their conversations. They were also told to move their chairs back where they were. Next day, pool chairs were moved everywhere on the deck and guests were actually blocking the entrance to the pool. I saw many guests get out of the pool and could not get by. Several guests made comments to the staff (not the pool staff but managers) and the comment was made which I actually heard. "It's all good" The pool closes at 9:00. The bar at the pool closes at 9:00. There were no activities during the day or evening by the pool. This was a big disappointment. Overall, we met a lot of nice people, had great conversations but personally, I NOT go on another Celebrity Cruise. All of my other cruises were with Royal Caribbean and they were all 5 Stars. Much better than Celebrity. I know that Celebrity is owned by Royal Caribbean but you would not have known it by their service.

The ship was absolutely beautiful. The balcony rooms were nicely appointed.

We have been on 17 cruises but this was first Celebrity. This was best overall quality cruise ever. We even liked the entertainment which is rare. I like the fact that they do not try to nickle and dime you to death. Everyone went over and above to make you happy. Very Impressed and will be back.

The ship is sleek and modern. Even though it holds 2800 passengers, you never feel crowded. The variety of art work on display in all areas of the ship is quite impressive as is the atrium lobby with its glass enclosed elevators. The AquaClass room was very spacious and comfortable.

My husband and I have cruised 25+ times. The Celebrity cruise line has always provided an excellent cruises. The Solstice was outstanding! The staff went over and beyond to meet our needs and to make the cruise enjoyable. We traveled with another set of friends that have also cruised many times and they felt the same in regards to the excellent service and food we received. We will book again with them soom.

From the moment you step onto this ship, until you leave, the service is outstanding and all your needs are the crews priority. It is amazing to see a ship this size run so effeciently. We were impressed by our greeting, with a glass of champagne to the wonderful buffet that was set out for us, until our cabin was ready. The ship is incredibly beautiful and clean. Our balcony cabin was wonderful,don't think we will book inside cabin ever again!!! We could go on about everyday being a wonderful experience but then you would be reading all day!!! This was a great vacation.
