Totally awesome cruise by BudA

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Solstice / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Both my husband and I were totally blown away by the beauty of the ship itself. Everywhere you looked was pure class. No glitz. No gaudiness. Just elegant ambiance everywhere you went. The sky observation lounge on deck 14 was truly awesome and provided a wonderful and relaxing place in which to enjoy approaching and leaving the various ports of call. Everyplace you went you would see cozy little nooks with comfortable lounge chairs appropriate for a romantic get away. Overall a wonderfully relaxing week.

Everything that we expected it to be! by JohnC23

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Solstice / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

This cruise rated right up there as "the best" we have ever experienced. It was Thanksgiving week, so many families were aboard. We are in our 60's and travelling alone. All in all, the children were well behaved and polite. We have cruised many different lines and always find Celebity to be a great experience. You can bring two bottles of wine aboard with you. Leave it in your stateroom and you will not pay "corkage fees". No questions asked at check-in. We took bottled water too. Carry on was heavy...but well worth the savings. Staterooms are ready at 3:00PM on embarkation day.

Celebrity Solstice by JoanG

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Solstice / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We just arrived home from a great cruise with Celebrity. This cruise line is definitely a cut above some of the other cruise lines. The Solstice is a beautiful, well-appointed ship. We would definitely recommend Celebrity as the cruise line to trael on. The only disappointment we had was one of our tours -- totally misrepresented. However, the tour manager, Juan Carlos, was extremely understanding and reimbursed us for the this tour. Customer satisfaction is their main concern.

Let's Do It Again! by WendyJ1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Solstice / Destination: Caribbean - Western

I had never been cruising before. I went on the Solstice by Celebrity on November 7, 2010. The attention that all the staff from the Captain to the porter, gave to me was phenomenal. The pleasant greetings from all was great. The ports that I visited were Georgetown, Grand Cayman; Cozumel, Costa Maya, Mexico and Roatan, Honduras. Why we visited Honduras, I will never know. It was a dirty, intimidating area. On board, I enjoyed the dance classes as well as the parties. I am sooo ready to do it again!!!

"A Really Nice Vacation" by LindaD4

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Solstice / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

I thought the ship was beautiful. The pool area was small and somewhat crowded but I guess that is to be expected. We loved the pool bar and the people working there. I was amazed at how professional they were at making all kind of drinks. Very impressive. All the drinks were amazing and we had all different ones. We opted to pay the beverage package and overall we were very pleased. To have superb wine with each meal and drinks, including bottled water was so worth it. I do wish you had a different brand rather than Evian. That water actually makes you thirsty because of the mineral content. I liked the regular ship water that we were given with our meals. Even though we may have saved a little by not going with the packages, I loved not having to sign my name. I just gave them my room key and it was swiped. We would like to cruize on Celebrity again.

Didn't Want To Get Off The Ship by Dl111

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Solstice / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We recently sailed on Celebrity Solstice; four of us/two couples. We each LOVED it. The ship is beautiful (incredible decor/art work, great layout and more). The staff, service was the highlight. The cabin steward was lovely, attentive, really on the ball and the stateroom was kept impeccably. The wait staff in the main dining room did everything they could to please us and were expert at remembering little things that meant a lot. The food was not great and as the trip came to a close, it got kind of worse. That is likely because all the food is loaded up at the beginning of the cruise (they don't pick up local anything at the ports) so many things just were not fresh towards the end. I would say that food was the biggest downside but didn't change our desire to go right back. The entertainment crew were fun and professional. The shows were a higher caliber than would have been expected. One thing we really liked unlike some other cruiselines is that there was no push to upsell you anything. We barely spent any extras on board and felt comfortable in doing so. The layout of the balcony cabins is quite ample with much more room for storage than one would expect. The bathroom was larger than on many ships, especially the shower so you could actually turn around or bend down. The other passengers met our needs, 30's-60's, upscale, not your boozing types. Not a lot of children and for those with children, this is not really the ship for you since it doesn't have a lot for children. The spa services were pricey but of high quality. We didn't try the specialty restaurants since there was a price supplement and since the chef was not great in the main dining room we didn't feel that spending more money for specialty restaurants would be a worthwhile investment. The pastry chef and team were outstanding. Embarkation and disembarkation were easy in ports and upon return. If you upgrade to Concierge class then even easier, especially onboarding and offboarding in U.S. which can take some time. We loved Celebrity Solstice and can't wait to go back on board anywhere it goes.

Best Cruise In a Long Time by Dl1

Solstice cruising is a great experience. The ship is lovely. The service is outstanding. It is upscale cruising and doesn't attract the heavy drinking partying types.

Totally Impressed by CarlaB5

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Celebrity Solstice / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

We sailed on the Celebrity Solstice. It was our first cruise, and we can't wait to take another. The agent, waiters, and staff that we encountered seemed to have the attitude that they would drop whatever they were doing at the time to serve us personally. For example, we liked the orange slices on the buffet but couldn't find them one morning. The waiter I asked said give me 10 minutes and was soon back with our own plate of oranges for our table. The ship was beautifully decorated with easy access to all areas. We enjoyed the entertainment; the shows were very professionally done, and we were impressed to see the cast members helping with classes and services during the day. The TV was very helpful in planning island trips and knowing the daily schedule. We appreciated and took advantage of the shopping advice provided. All-in-all, it was a wonderful trip.

Had a Great time! by DonnaC12

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Solstice / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This ship is beautiful! Our cabin was wonderful (Sky suite at the very back of the ship). We had a butler, Nito, who was terrific and Virginia, our cabin attendant was great. The ship is very clean. The staff very friendly and professional. Our ship had to be diverted due to Hurricane Paula and the Captain handled the situation professionally and calmly. The only drawback was that Montego Bay, Jamaica was one of the new ports and it was TERRIBLE. Dirty and unfriendly! Other than that, the cruise was great fun!
