Review summary

We recently sailed on Celebrity Solstice and found it to be very elegant. The food in the main dining room was very well presented and delicious. The food in the buffet was excellent and there were so very many choices. This was our 27th cruise and we would have to say that it was the best. The shows were phenomenal. There were plenty of activities to keep everyone busy.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We enjoyed the sandwich counter where you could have a sandwich made to order. They even had small bags of Lays chips to go with your sandwich.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The ship was spotless. We saw many staff members cleaning all the time. Really enjoyed the layout of the ship.

Cabin / Stateroom

We had a balcony that was roomy and had two reclining chairs.

Ports of call

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

Lots of shopping here. The local tour people aren't as friendly as in some ports.

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

Lots of shopping here. The local tour people are the friendliest people around. We booked a tour that was supposed to be at least two hours long and it actually ended up being 2 and a half hours long!!! What a great deal!!! We arrived on the Dutch side of the island and went over to he French side.

San Juan, Puerto Rico

5 out of 5
In San Juan we got off the ship and walked about a block and got on the free trolley that goes around "Old San Juan". There are two different routes so we took time and went on each one. We visited "El Moro" a fort right on the coast line. If you need any personal items there is a CVS pharmacy near the end of the pier.
Don't Miss: "El Moro" Fortress

Pros: Every aspect of the ship was elegant

Cons: During the life boat drill we sat in the dining room and a child next to us played with all the cutlery and drinking glasses. Within a short time there would be a guest using that same cutlery and glass and it concerns us that there could very likely be germs on those items.

Recommends Celebrity Solstice? Yes!
