Review summary

This cruise rated right up there as "the best" we have ever experienced. It was Thanksgiving week, so many families were aboard. We are in our 60's and travelling alone. All in all, the children were well behaved and polite. We have cruised many different lines and always find Celebity to be a great experience. You can bring two bottles of wine aboard with you. Leave it in your stateroom and you will not pay "corkage fees". No questions asked at check-in. We took bottled water too. Carry on was heavy...but well worth the savings. Staterooms are ready at 3:00PM on embarkation day.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Early dining (6:00PM) at the same table is the way to go. The left side of the menu is the same every night. The right side changes every night. You can mix and match from both sides. Ask your waiter for a second portion of your favorites.

Entertainment

The shows were VERY entertaining.

Service and Staff

The Captain was the best ever. VERY funny!! He even played volleyball in the pool one afternoon. All of the staff that we had contact with were very good.

Ship Quality

Very clean and easy to navigate. Well laid out! The monuments near the elevators are very helpful.

Cabin / Stateroom

We had a veranda...enjoyed coffee there every morning and a cocktail or glass of wine in the evening.

Ports of call

San Juan, Puerto Rico

They have "cleaned up" this City. We have visited here before and did not feel safe and did not even want to visit food establishments. This time was different.
Don't Miss: Walking tour in Old San Juan

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

Island tour is well worth the money ($20)

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

Take the least expensive island tour (about $25). They are all the same stops and places. We paid $45 for the "Best..." tour and saw the same passengers from less expensive tours at every stop.
Don't Miss: Shop downtown when the tour is complete. The cab fare back to the ship is $4 per person

Pros: The ship (Solstice) and the crew

Cons: The
