Celebrity Solstice

7 Night Western Caribbean (Ft. Lauderdale Roundtrip)

Sail date: August 29, 2010

Ship: Celebrity Solstice

Cabin type: Balcony

Traveled as: Couple

Reviewed: 14 years ago

Review summary

The ship is great for couples, not great for families. The lawn on the top deck seemed like a waist of space. They could better utilize that space for youth oriented things like a wave runner or climbing walls, zip line, etc. Could attract more families. We would NOT bring our family to this ship, but as a couple we'd visit again.

Great food and super service. We did not attend any of the specialty resturants since it was cost porhibitive for us.

The attendants were great! The bed was a wierd shape with the curved foot of the bed. My husband is 6'2" and I have two boys that are 6'3" that would NOT be able to fit on those beds.

Dive shop they used needs to be re-evaluated-the equipment was not the best and could have been potentially dangerous for us.

Coxen Hole, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras

Great destination. Wish we could have spent more time there.

Pros: The staff was excellent

Cons: problems on excursion at Costa Maya-diving
