Do Not Choose Celebrity

Sail Date: June 01, 2009

Reviewed: 7 years ago

Traveled As: Family (older children)

Room Type: Balcony

The ship was wonderful but the staterooms were small. We had a balcony for 3 people and there was not enough storage room. Much of the third passenger's clothing remained on the floor. Food was served cold or lukewarm in both the main dining room and the buffet. We had purchased transfers but Celebrity had no record of this and it was QUITE A HASSEL GETTING TO THE SHIP FROM THE AIRPORT. One piece of luggage wasn't brought to our cabin until 15 moinutes before dinner on the first night.
So even though the ship itself was very beautiful anf the itinerary was definitly to our liking, we will think twice before traveling with Celebrity again. Princess does a much better job!!

Pros: Beahtiful new ship. Entertainment was suburb!

Cons: Celebrity said we had noit paid for transfers , WE DID!, , and at first refused us transportation from the airport to the ship in Rome.

Recommends Celebrity Solstice? No.

Food and Dining
Food was cold.. At the omelet station, I asked for scrambled eggs (to avoid gettin cold, dried out eggs) and they made me an omelet. I told them I had asked for scrambled and the chef said he would make them scrambled for me. He proceded to cut up the omelet into tiny pices. NOT ACCEPTABLE!
Cabin / Stateroom
We had a concierge class balcony for 3 people. It was far too crowded for 3 and there wasn't enough storage spce for 3 people. (One suitcase each.)
Ship Quality
Service and Staff
Entertainment in the theater was top rate. However, there were very few choices other than the theater. (2700 guests on board, there should have been choices.)
