Review summary

Here is my summary of my cruise on the Celebrity Silhouette- the enhancements make the ship virtually brand new. This is a premium cruise line. The cabins are spacious with lots of storage. The crew is knowledgeable, friendly and professional. The food is extremely good both in the complementary dining and speciality dining rooms. The itinerary was great and the weather was accommodating. I will truly sail again on the Silhouette. It was a wonderful voyage. The public areas are comfortable and well maintained. The entertainment, in my opinion rivals New York City’s Broadway. I especially enjoyed the enrichment lectures about the port of calls. Crew was very helpful should you get loss on the ship or needed assistance. I highly recommend sailing the Celebrity Silhouette or one of her sisters, you are sure to have a wonderful time. Her enhancements include approximately $270 million of services. Among these enhancements are overhauls of public areas, cabins, new furniture

Ship Quality

This was the first sailing after drydock, the ship is like new!

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
This is a partially obstructed balcony cabin. Because of the lifeboats you have obstruction looking down but you do have a panoramic view looking out. The cabin has generous space and plenty of storage. There is new beds, carpeting, and couch. There is also new linen, towels and bathrobes.

Ship tip

This is a fantastic ship, if the price is within your budget and the itinerary is one you would enjoy, book it.

Visit Eagle Beach, it is $15 each way from one to four passengers by taxi. The taxis are readily available. Divi’s Aruba has beach umbrellas and two beach loungers for $10

George Town, Grand Cayman

I took a ship excursion to Stingray City, it is crowded as it is a popular tourist attraction. Despite the crowd it is a must do at least once

Kralendijk, Bonaire

Bonaire Divi Flamingo is a 5-8 minute walk from the pier. A day pass to use the resort facilities and obtain a beach chair and umbrella is $20. The beach is rocky, you can snorkel at the pier- you will see lots of marine life just looking in the water.

Willemstad, Curacao

I took a shore excursion to Mambo Beach by boat. It was $49 pp, included beach longer, umbrella and soft drink

Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida
