Cabin type: Balcony

Cabin number: 1660

Review summary

Entertainment shows were better than I recall from other Celebrity cruises. But, food offerings seem to be deteriorating - especially after halfway point of cruise. Felt like a lot of reheated or overcooked food in the buffet. The desserts ended up being nearly all mousses which were not good.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Quick and pleasant

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
The free food is not as good as I recall from a few years ago

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5
Always like the fitness center. But the vast majority of "activities" listed in the daily program are simply sales presentations and one feels like one has signed up for a condo sales trip rather thana cruise.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Entertainment has improved from past years. Usually we don't bother going to shows on Celebrity any more. But, some of the guest entertainers (eg: Elton John tribute etc) were excellent. Some shows had the same names as the ones we saw 6 months ago on a Celebrity cruise, so we didn't bother going since we assumed they would be as mediocre as last time. Same for the speakers. Same old presenters with same old lectures. Don't they ever change them??

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Staff are still xnt.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
Would see food on floors of buffet. Rest of ship was good.

Cabin / Stateroom

2 out of 5
Cabin and shower seemed cramped compared to that on a recent RC cruise. Also, layout of storage is poor. Need twice as many drawers for 2 people.

Ship tip

Get to restaurants early and first as they get crowded and service gets slow.

Ports of call

Southampton (London), England

3 out of 5
Convenient.

New York, New York

5 out of 5
The destination would be great if one had enuff time there. But, thanks to immigration issues it took till the afternoon before folks could debark, and the ship was supposed to sail at 2am(!) It needs a full 2 days.

Boston, Massachusetts

2 out of 5
Been to Boston b4 and there's not a lot to it.

King's Wharf, Bermuda

3 out of 5
Fun if you have not visited b4.

Nassau, Bahamas

2 out of 5
Fun if you have not visited b4. But, very run down and passengers are warned to not go beyond tourist areas - so you may as well be in Disneyland. What's the point?

Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida

3 out of 5
Port itself is boring.

Disembarkation

1 out of 5
Disastrous debarkation due to spending over 2 HOURS trying to get off ship, collect luggage and GO THRU IMMIGRATION AGAIN!
