The cruise would have been better if the main dining room service had not been so bad. Inattentive, unresponsive, and failure to honor a special request for our table mates’ 50th Anniversary were inexcusable reasons. We went to other venues after that.

Review summary

Nice ship but in need of upgrades which are coming later this year. With a more efficient, caring main dining room staff, it could have been a nice way to start the year instead of being memorable for the wrong reasons; that was a real shame and not appreciated!!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Main dining room service was terrible but the specialty and buffets were excellent. Could not gives higher rating overall due to main dining room lousy service which was reported to the head of restaurants on board. We did not return to main dining room the last several nights of the cruise. Very disappointing. Intro statement to this evaluation explained the problems.

Qsine

Absolutely one of the most exciting dinners with the visual presentations, followed by very delicious dinner and outstanding wait staff. A+

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Was disappointed with entertainment in theater. Not up to Celebrity’s standards. Cruise director did not recognize the importance to the large number of the guests who were forced to watch the college national championship game and the pro football games in a very cramped casino lounge when the celebrity movie theater could have been used. The theater was used for future cruise marketing to a group of less than 20 people. Unhappy cruisers on several days when the powers in charge ignored the obvious solution.

Entertainment

Disappointing as noted above.

Celebrity Theater

3 out of 5

Venue was fine but quality of entertainment was below what Celebrity has has in the past.

Card Room

4 out of 5

Fine, but just need more areas like that for card and game playing. Difficult at times to find a suitable place.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Main dining room service was terrible as noted above. Waiters in other parts of the ship were great and staff assigned to the restrooms were super efficient. The waiters who served us at the Elite and above Happy Hour (Gede, especially) were the best ever. Also, our room steward (Nadya) was one of the best ever. Could not give a perfect rating due to the main dining room experience.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Love that class of ship. Easy to maneuver and ship was well maintained and clean. Ship needs more areas similar to the game area on deck 9 so groups can play cards, games, etc. Difficult to find suitable places.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Nice sized and comfortable. Absolutely the cleanest one we have had with our steward, Nadya, taking care of us. Great job!

Ship tip

Relax and enjoy the escargot if you get a table with a decent waiter who cares about his job; ours did not and it ruined our trip. Surely, we were not the first to experience that.

Ports of call

Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida

Boarded and left from here. Nice job getting checked in and off the ship.

George Town, Grand Cayman

Had been there before and did not leave the ship.

Oranjestad, Aruba

Beautiful and just walked around.

Willemstad, Curacao

Enjoyed it but did no tours and just shopped.

Kralendijk, Bonaire

4 out of 5
Not much to do. Took a tour which was interesting but would not do it again.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
Efficient in spite of the slo down due to government closure. Only had two window for whole ship to go through. The non-paid TSA workers were doing a good job, considering they were volunteering.
