the good,the bad and the ugly

Perhaps it isn't fair to review Silhouette after taking a Crystal in December. I've been on many cruises so I think I can compare. We boarded quickly as we waited till 1:30 pm so the lunch crowd had already boarded. Soon after our room was ready and Salvatore our attendant welcomed us.We had an early dinner in the Lawn Club and enjoyed it. During the trip our waiter Jasont from Hondouras and his assistant were fabulous-just couldn't ask for better. Jean in ILounge went the extra mile to help me with e-mails. All the good things including a captain with a great sense of humor,who took medical evacuation very seriously when we needed to care for ill patients


the bad- one sea day at 1:10 pm,my husband and I went to the restaurant for lunch. It closed at 1:30, we waited on line as a blonde receptionist told us to move over to port side as one side was full. we did and were then told we could not sit at a tables for 2. if we wouldn't join into large tables ,those of us would not be seated. I still can't believe it-I felt I was in school! Speaking of school, that is how the tables are set up-long lines of 12 chairs divided into 4's and 2's. Our waiter had to go past 10 other diners to serve us because the seats were so close! We ordered a bottle of  white wine one night and were poured a glass and never were given a refill till after desert-we couldn't pour it ourselves because the wine was taken to be chilled. I think you can guess we were not happy. But then we got Richard and our wine was always ready.The last bad thing was nobody in guest services knew about transportation to airport,they told us to see shore excursions who told us to see guest relations. One day we went to concierge services -nobody was there despite hours showing she should be. No notice -after waiting 15 minutes we gave up. Finally after 5 0r 6 attempts to get info,we found John ,at guest services, who said no problem and booked us on the spot. Thanks, John


the ugly- absolutely nothing, This is a beautiful ship that needs some shakeup with staff but also has some fabulous crew. Bottom line because of the dining seating,we have now booked our next trip on a different line.
