Fantastic Cruise

Sail Date: December 01, 2012

Reviewed: 4 years ago

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Suite

Beautiful new ship, very upscale and well thought out. Definitely a huge difference from lower end lines like Carnival. Food was excellent, especially if you took advantage of the specialty dining venues; Spa services were great as well as the onboard facilities and activities.

Pros: Clean beautiful ship, excellent service from a great crew

Cons: Destinations

Recommends Celebrity Silhouette? Yes!

Ship Quality
Fantastically clean and brand new. Very well designed with the higher end traveller in mind.
Food and Dining
We ate at the specialty dining restaurants, mostly Blu. The food was on par with higher end restaurants in a major city, but I would say the service was some of the best we had. We opted for the select dinging which allowed us to eat at our own times, even on New Year's Eve which was is a huge deal to us.
Cabin / Stateroom
Rooms are very boutique hotel-like in design and amenities. One really nice this is that the in suite entertainment system is based on Apple TV which really is in keeping up with latest technology instead of some of the antiquated options out there. In suite Wi-Fi (extra cost) is a very nice option also.
Service and Staff
All the staff was extremely gracious and genuinely seemed interested in making guests happy. I can't say enough about how good the wait staff, sommeliers, maitre'd's etc are. Also the housekeeping an other ship staff are the same.
Huge number of activities, but also great options to just chill and relax. Saw plenty of kids on the ship, but I never felt like the ship was taken over them which means they had plenty of great activities meant just for them.
Children's Programs
This ship is a great combination of high end luxury while still being family friendly. I would say it is better for families with slightly older kids, ages 8 and up, as much smaller kids may like a line Disney better.
