Review summary

We find that a 3-day cruise isn’t long enough. There was no “at sea” day which are usually so much fun. Keep in mind when booking a summer cruise, that the Caribbean will be EXTREMELY hot and there will also be more children onboard (doesn’t bother us).

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5

Cafe al Bacio and Gelateria

5 out of 5

As usual, Cafe Al Bacio was a hit with us! Fresh made coffees, lattes, espressos made to order and different pastries every day! One of our favorite spots on the ship.

Opus (Main) Dining Room

3 out of 5

The dining experience in the main dining room has declined in both service and quality of food. Much of the food was cold, the service was extremely slow, and we always felt we were being rushed to get out of there.

Oceanview Cafe and Bar

4 out of 5

Variety is never an issue in the Oceanview Cafe, however, many items could have been warmer.

Tuscan Grille

4 out of 5

After two nights of sub par service and food in the Opus Dining Room, we decided to dine at a specialty restaurant. We went to Tuscan where the food was absolutely top notch. However, again, the service and personal touches were lacking as opposed to our previous cruises on Celebrity.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5

Solarium

2 out of 5

We have enjoyed the solarium in the past but we were traveling with a 7 yr old this trip. It would have been nice if children were allowed in the Solarium because it was so extremely hot at the outdoor pool. The deck would actually burn your feet when walking from your lounger to the pool. The solarium is underused in my opinion and I only saw one person in the pool the whole time we were onboard…. Allowing children would make good use of it!

Shops on the Boulevard

2 out of 5

The shops on the Solstice class ship are pretty underwhelming. Not enough variety…. More souvenir type shops and less high end jewelry/purse stores would make a big difference!

Entertainment

4 out of 5

Grand Foyer

5 out of 5

The Grand Foyer is always buzzing with music and fun! Our favorite time was watching our kids and grandkids at the silent disco… they loved it!

Reflection Theater

4 out of 5

Shows at the theater were good except for the last one. Broadway doesn’t appeal to children and this cruise had A LOT of children onboard.

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
Waiters seemed new, forgot certain items that were ordered, were very delayed in delivering food and then it was cold.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
The Solstice Class ships are our favorites. It’s a perfect size to be able to navigate your way around without getting lost or being in a cattle herd like some of the larger ships. The ship was clean and well maintained.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Cabin was clean and the only complaints we have is that there aren’t enough electrical outlets and the room is on the warm side even with the AC turned all the way down.

Ship tip

Bring magnetic hooks to take advantage of the metal walls in the cabin. You can hang your robes, bathing suits, your room key (on a lanyard), your sun hat, etc and free up space throughout the cabin.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
We utilized the “Walk Off” option and were off the ship by 7:45 am and at the airport just 15 minutes later!

We agree about the 3 day cruise being so short. Especially if you're coming from out-of-state.
