Review summary

Everything about the cruise was good if not excellent including food, entertainment, shore excursions, ports, ship, cleanliness and particularly we loved our dining waiters and cabin attendant. The only downside to the Celebrity Reflection ship is the extreme lack of pool chairs--every single person on board we talked to was also complaining. The first two sea days we were never able to get a chair. The third sea day we got up at 6:30 a.m. to get a chair--in the shade. Kind of sad. People hold chairs all day and the pool butlers never pull their stuff off. If you're not a person that hangs at the pool you will be very happy with this cruise. If that is important to you try a different ship.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Fabulous waiter and assistant Edrich and Filo at table 469. Food was mostly good--penne primavera horrible. Excellent steaks every time. Salmon and lamb amazing!

Onboard Activities

We didn't really participate. I hated that the music was live in the foyer. Twice I needed to visit with guest relations and it was nearly impossible to have a conversation with them. Put music in a bar or club. The band was good though but the area was crowded always.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Tenors of Rock and Mike Wilson awesome. Cruise director show very disappointing--she's totally full of herself and downright annoying. Broadway dancers were great but whoever wrote that show was high--it's horrible.

Children's Programs

didn't use

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Such great service in dining room and cabin attendant--could not have been more pleased.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
storage lacking in stateroom closet. The ship is sparkling clean and a cool design with the interior elevators, tree, etc. Seemed like the elevators were always busy though.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
We had a family of four so yes it's tight but the bathroom space is great. I took a tip from a previous cruiser and brought 4 of the folding square bins along for clothes storage--it saved us. There's storage shelving above the bed that is impractical without the bins. There are no shelves/drawers in the closet which is ridiculous. Lack of drawers a problem. Other than that a well arranged room and excellent bathroom. Main bed super comfy--other beds good for smaller kids but not so much for older kids like mine.

Ship tip

Bring storage bins for cabin. Get to the pool deck really early if you want a deck chair. Relax and have a good time. There were a lot of uptight and complaining shipmates on board--good grief you're on a cruise--let it go! Treat staff with respect and say thank you--they work SO hard.

Ports of call

Miami, Florida

Be prepared for a LOT of cigarette smoke and generally loose morals in South Beach. The beach is also pretty dirty compared to Hawaii or other nice beaches I have seen. The board walk is really nice though.

San Juan, Puerto Rico

5 out of 5
The stop in Puerto Rico was too short--didn't arrive until 3:30. Just enough time to walk through fort and a few shops. Didn't really want to be out after dark although we never felt unsafe as lots of other cruisers around.

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

5 out of 5
Did a full island tour which was fun to see but a lot of driving. I would skip a few stops and spend more time at Maho Beach--what a kick watching those planes land and take off.

Basseterre, St. Kitts

Our favorite stop--snorkeling amazing! Leeward Island Charters does tour through Celebrity. Beautiful catamaran--what a blast.

This review is spot on.  I also agree regarding the music.  It was so difficult to have a conversation at Guest Services.  The music overall (over the speakers or the live music) is too loud, period, especially at the pool during the day.

There a few reviews stating that the pool staff removed towels and doesn't allow holding! Certainly there should be a happy medium.

We are on the ship next January. We aren't pool people so that won't bother us. RC Serenade of the Seas was the same last month at the pool. We found people in the theater saving seats also. Some people just don't care. 🛳️
