1.0 out of 5
Sail Date: March 01, 2007
Ship: Celebrity Mercury
Cabin Type: Inside
Traveled As: Singles/Friends
Reviewed: 10 years ago
Expected, as advertised a 4 1/2 star ship, instead got a dirty, shabby, drab worn out, run down vessel with zero glamor. Very disappointed. Feel like we have been conned.

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
A few meals were excellent, but too many exotic sounding but tasteless, bland dishes.

3 out of 5
Theatre shows good. Art lecture good. Not into Bingo. TV entertaiment in stateroom
very poor. Recent films were pay for view. Otherwise, Bonanza, Beverly Hillbilly reruns. News often 3 days old.

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
Waiters & cabin steward excellent. Customer service staff very indifferent.

Ship Quality

1 out of 5
Upholstery absolutely filthy.Appalling. Carpets worn out. Drab & dowdy. Overhead wiring being replaced in corridors. Tiny swimming pools which were empty when we sailed.

Cabin / Stateroom

1 out of 5
Filthy armchairs. Small cramped. Worn out carpet. Thermostat to control cabin temperature didn't work the whole cruise. Staff provided with old vacuums so that there was dust & lint on the floor even after cleaning.

Pros: Theatre shows

Cons: Dirty, shabby upholstery. Worn out carpets & decor.

Recommends Celebrity Mercury? No.
