Review SummaryWe were on our first ever cruise. Our children and their spouses treated us to this cruise to Alaska to celebrate out 50th anniversary. We all sailed on the Celebrity's Mercury vessel in July 2006. We all had a wonderful time, other than some rainy weather, which we expected. We attended most of the live shows, which were beautifully presented. We also took in a movie at the the theater, the casino, shopping on board, and wonderful presentations about the Alaskan wildlife and Alaska, itself. We enjoyed the Hubbell Glacier viewing, as well as simply seawatching for whales and other wildlife. We took several off shore excursions which were handled by the crew who did a subperb job of scheduling and re-scheduling for us several times.
I must comment on the crew: our servers in the main dining room deserve special mention, especially Jacob, who not only served our meals to perfection, but kept us entertained with his humor. The cabin servers were mostly out of sight but somehow the beds were always made, the bathroom was clean and our laundry returned to us in a timely manner.
All in all, we can't think of a thing we would change. We have a great time and are looking forward to another cruise in the future.
