Great Friendly Service

Sail Date: December 11, 2010

Reviewed: 5 years ago

Traveled As: Family w/older children

Room Type: Inside

Wanted to do this cruise on the Mercury before it is sold in early 2011--so the value of the review of the ship will have only limited time value as only a few more months for the Mercury in the Celebrity Cruise Ship line-up

Pros: The private island, coco cay

Cons: all good

Recommends Celebrity Mercury (RETIRED)? Yes!

Food and Dining
Only one sit down restaurant, the Manhatten, but nice selection of entrees. Dinner with all the courses took about 1 and 1/2 hours, with excellent attentive service
Cabin / Stateroom
chose an interior room, lots of closet space but no couch was the trade off.
Service and Staff
All the staff were really anxious to be helpful and make the cruise a good experience. From Cabin attendents, to Waiters & Servers, very friendly and accomodating.
They had some interesting lecture and options to chose from and we took in a little of each, from enterntainment, dance classes, movies, seminars etc.
Ship Quality
Not a giant ship, but nice layout and well staffed and maintained
Nassau, Bahamas
Have been to nassau before, so enjoyed the stroll thru all the shopping areas.
Charleston, South Carolina
On our trip Charleston was unseasonably cold, so we only spent an hour or son in town
Cococay (Cruiseline's Private Island)
Tendered to the Island and my daughter wished they would stay at Cococay more than one day
Don't Miss: Snorkeling and the Nature Walk around the island
Key West, Florida
The Butterfly conservatory is a must see, and the walk to the conservatory, takes you by many other sights such as the Hemingway House.
