Never Again

Sail Date: March 01, 2007

Reviewed: 9 years ago

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Suite

We were on the Mercury for 14 days in a suite with concierge service. We were totally disappointed with the accomodations. Our suite was old, worn and dirty. The food was mediocre at best. There were people everywhere and lines for everything. Everything was disorganized. We will never, ever travel on Celebrity again. I wrote a long letter three weeks ago and included pictures of the chairs with holes in our cabin, the black mold in the shower and rust and dirt on the verandah. No response.

Cons: The ship is old and tired. Our cabin was filthy. The food was mediocre at best.

Recommends Celebrity Mercury (RETIRED)? No.

Food and Dining
Ship Quality
There was a breakout of norovirus. Every surface of the ship was cleaned every half hour with bleach. All of the doors, windows, mirrors, pictures, railings were clouded with bleach. It smelled and looked awful.
Cabin / Stateroom
We had a small suite with concierge class service. The furniture was old and dated. The chairs had holes in them. The balcony was dirty and rusted. The balcony furniture was dingy and dirty. There was black mold in the shower. Every surface was filthy.
