Wonderful cruise

Room Type: Inside

We were on our first ever cruise. Our children and their spouses treated us to this cruise to Alaska to celebrate out 50th anniversary. We all sailed on the Celebrity's Mercury vessel in July 2006. We all had a wonderful time, other than some rainy weather, which we expected. We attended most of the live shows, which were beautifully presented. We also took in a movie at the the theater, the casino, shopping on board, and wonderful presentations about the Alaskan wildlife and Alaska, itself. We enjoyed the Hubbell Glacier viewing, as well as simply seawatching for whales and other wildlife. We took several off shore excursions which were handled by the crew who did a subperb job of scheduling and re-scheduling for us several times.

I must comment on the crew: our servers in the main dining room deserve special mention, especially Jacob, who not only served our meals to perfection, but kept us entertained with his humor. The cabin servers were mostly out of sight but somehow the beds were always made, the bathroom was clean and our laundry returned to us in a timely manner.

All in all, we can't think of a thing we would change. We have a great time and are looking forward to another cruise in the future.

Pros: the service by the crew members

Cons: We cannot think of a thing

Food and Dining
We mentioned the main dining room servers above but should also mention that the food and service in all areas of food was excellent. Our dining hour at 8:00 pm was later than we usually eat however it was certainly not an inconvenience.
Cabin / Stateroom
We were surprised at how much room we had in the stateroom. The bed was comfortable, closets ample and amenities the best
Service and Staff
We can't say it enough - they were friendly and helpful. Most seemed to really care about the passengers to ensure they had a good time and were cared for.
Fantastic entertainment; options and schedules were fine

Mendenhall glacier is quite an experience.
Skagway, Alaska
We loved Skagway. Just enjoyed shopping and browsing
Don't Miss: Tour of the city
Ketchikan, Alaska
Interesting town - raining heavy so limited to shopping and Duck tour
Don't Miss: Duck trip into the harbor
