Awesome Alaska Cruise

Sail Date: August 04, 2006

Reviewed: 10 years ago

Traveled As: Family w/older children

Room Type: Oceanview

This was our first Celebrity cruise, and we were really impressed overall. The rooms were lovely, the staff members were always smiling, the food was excellent, and we felt very welcome. Our 17 year old son wanted to stay onboard and rerun the trip!

Pros: Incredible visit to the Hubbard Glacier...up close and personal

Cons: short stop in Ketchikan (caused by tides, etc)

Ship Quality
Food and Dining
The food was excellent, the waiters were adorable! The casual dining option was as good as the main dining room, but we enjoyed being "served" so always ate with our great tablemates.
Cabin / Stateroom
We liked the layout of the room. It felt roomy, even with our neighbors visiting for cocktails before dinner...
Service and Staff
Excellent dancers/singers. The best we've experienced so far. How can they dance and sing on a wiggling ship??
Juneau, Alaska

Don't Miss: do the whale watching/glacier activity.
Skagway, Alaska

Don't Miss: you must ride the train and see where the 49ers walked up the trail
Ketchikan, Alaska
Too short, but we had a wee visit to the Saxman monument, and to a river where we saw salmon spawning, eagles hanging out for an easy meal, and even saw 2 black bears catching a fish in the river! Wow!
