Worst Travel experience ever

Sail Date: March 01, 2014

Reviewed: 3 years ago

Traveled As: Singles/Friends

Room Type: Inside

Poorly managed\, filthy\, run down ship\, with rude \, inept and defensive management team. Ship was riddled with a variety of illnesses and the insensitive staff was punitive teaching people the hard way not to complain or report illness which made the situation worse.

Pros: Enjoyed a day in Lima with my God Son

Cons: The entire Cruise on Celebrity Infinity

Recommends Celebrity Infinity? No.

Ship Quality
A large ship nearly 1000 feet in length\, very unstable\, and rolled and pitched at the slightest ripple. Floor plan easy to get around\, seemed scooter friendly as their were plenty onboard.
Food and Dining
I got food poisoning 3 times. Twice in the formal dining room due to the soup\, and once at the Buffet for a bad choice I made. Quisine is good for couples and groups only. SS United States has excellent service and food just watch which side of the menu you choose from due to hidden up charges.
Cabin / Stateroom
Utilitarian. Beds are comfortable with good quality dressing. Space enough for a single passenger for 14 days\, it would have been misery to travel with more than one in my inside room. Bathrooms small\, missing safety paint on sign\, and had tarnished mirrors. Water shut off without notice\, so all got black water then brown then finally clear water one morning. Not great for the toothbrush.
Service and Staff
of the approximately 975 staff aboard I managed to uncover about 9 that did a consistently good job\, none of which were management. The rest were either robotic\, or in a few cases openly hostile. Moral was very low since the \" New Captain\" took over.
Cruise director was by far the most annoying person on the entire ship. Both staff and fellow passengers agreed. Act's brought on were ok\, the ships music was ok\, the ships performers were in way over their heads\, young kids with little training or back round information trying to recreate the 1970's and the best of Broadway. At times both painful to watch and listen too. The killed every Diva of the Era and just piled the bloody bodies on the stage.
