More than I was expecting!

Sail Date: July 15, 2011

Traveled As: Singles/Friends

Room Type: Inside

Beautiful ship with everything you could ask for. There were little areas everywhere to have something to eat or drink. The library was perfect for a quiet place to read while at sea.

Pros: The itinerary and the naturalist talks

Cons: Not enough time in Juneau

Food and Dining
The dining room quality was exceptional. The buffet areas got monotanous for dinner selections - same thing every day, even though there were quite a few choices. Would have appreciated Mexican food as a regular choice for dinners.
Cabin / Stateroom
We were amazed how comfortable our stateroom was. Even though we were on the second floor in an inside cabin, we never felt cramped. Being inside even proved to be an asset on this trip because our room got so dark, it was easier to sleep.
Service and Staff
Exceptional. Just can't way enough.
Everything was great but the naturalist lectures were the highlight. He added so much to the trip. Outstanding benefit to the cruise.
Ship Quality
Layout was great and cleanlines was exceptional.
Juneau, Alaska
Keep walking out of town to get away from the "tourist" shops. I wish we had taken the tram up the hill but it was just too overcast and rainy to spend the money on it.
Don't Miss: Take the small-bus overview sightseeing trip.
Ketchikan, Alaska
We did basic sightseeing small-bus tour and I'd recommend doing this to get an idea of the town. It's smaller than I expected.
Don't Miss: Creek Street and the tram up the hill then walk back down.
Skagway, Alaska
Again took the small-bus overview trip around the area. Great tour but kiind of wish had done it by railway. Really cute little town - very little.
Don't Miss: Railway trip up the mountain.
Victoria, British Columbia
Took the "historic downtown" and Buchart Gardens tour. Wish we had time to walk around downtown but we had 1-1/2 hours at the Gardens which was just enough time to see all the different gardens. Don't miss them, even if you're not a gardener, like me.
Don't Miss: Buchart Gardens
