7 Night Alaska Tracy Arm Fjord (Seattle Roundtrip)
Sail Date: July 15, 2011
Ship: Celebrity Infinity
Cabin Type: Suite
Traveled As: Family (older children)
Reviewed: 6 years ago
The ship had a lot to offer. However, our state rooms which were royal suites were dated and worn much of it looking very dirty. The staff in the 10 th floor buffet were all very nice but communication was difficult. The constant promotions or sales was a bit tiring. Sometimes it would have been nice to be offered a drink without a price attached to it for the amount of money we paid!!

Food and Dining

The restaurants were good, buffet was average. Some nights the restaurant was too crowded and we had to wait 1/2 hour with a reservation.

Entertainment

Naturalist, comedian and singers were all excellent

Service and Staff

We complained of a foul smell in our hallway one day when we were at sea and got no response for 24 hours. Unfortunately, it was our day at sea so that kept us out of rooms for awhile.

As stated above they needed updating. Our outdoor jacuzzi was broken. And, carpet, couch, curtains were very tired!

The train was excellent with great views. Not much in the town.
Don't Miss: The train

We did not go into town, but did go dog sledding in the hills and loved it. It was rainy and cold so we went back to ship.

We went whale watching which was a bust only saw the whales for a few minutes and the waters were very choppy. However, I heard that people enjoyed the gardens and city. I wish we would have done that instead.

We went to Misty Fjords and it was very interesting but a far boat ride. We did not go into town we did not have time.

Pros: the entertainment especially naturalist Brent Nixon, the guest speaker. He was very informative and enthusiastic

Cons: The ship was a bit worn looking and the food was at best fair.
