Celebrity Infinity

16 Night Panama Canal Eastbound (Seattle To Ft. Lauderdale)

Sail date: September 24, 2010

Ship: Celebrity Infinity

Cabin type: Suite

Traveled as: Singles/Friends

Reviewed: 14 years ago

Review summary

The ship had many broken parts, non-functioning equipment, and company policies that prevents the traveler from getting what they paid for in advance. Food was less than advertised, not what was on the menu, and food handlers did NOT wear gloves. Over all, Mc Donald's has higher food handling standards. The priority passes for Captain's Club card holders meant nothing and were the joke of the trip. The ship's officers were less than friendly especially the Captain, but the stateroom staff and service staff were just the opposite; very friendly. The ship needs to be docked for major repairs. This is my learned opinion having worked on Navy ships. There is major problems with their mechanical systems aboard.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

1 out of 5
Major food handling issues. Did not taste good for a large percentage of the dishes presented.

Service and Staff

Hotel managers and Ship's Officers were not friendly. Other staff were very friendly and helpful. I consider the hotel management "Pirates" for their policies that literly robbed me while trying to get my pre-paid "Non-Alcoholic Drink Package".

Loved this port. Downside was not enough time there.

Colon, Panama

Only had 2 hours in port and that was only due to the late arrival of passengers on the excursion.

Puntarenas, Costa Rica

Cartagena, Colombia

The Naval Musieum was very good, the tour of the city sucked, the bus ride was painful, and seeing the violence in the city first hand was thrilling.

San Diego, California

Acapulco, Mexico

Ship couldn't get the arrangements I requested for this port.

Pros: The fellow travelers

Cons: Celebrity Cruises policies and constant rip-offs
