A Wonderful Cruise

Sail Date: August 22, 2008

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Oceanview

The ship was older but in good condition. It was hard to find a chaise near the pool areas unless you got there before 9am. The evening dinner in the restaurant was good but wasn't impressed with the pasta bar or the Oasis cafe for evening meal.

Pros: The ports that we visited, most of the tours and being in a port most of the day.

Cons: Not enough choices for the evening meal - if you didn't choose to eat in the Orion dining room. One tour wasn't up to par, Rhodes. Also, was disappointed in the spa services. A facial consisted of having lotions rubbed on your face. I could have done that at home!

Recommends Celebrity Galaxy (RETIRED) 53? Yes!

Mykonos, Greece
Enjoyed the shops, restaurants were very pricey!
Don't Miss: Delos was a great tour
Santorini, Greece
Rhodes, Greece
The tour of the ruins and scenic Rhodes was a waste. The worst of the trip. Would have enjoyed just seeing Rhodes on my own as the downtown area looked very nice.
Kusadasi (Ephesus), Turkey
Enjoyed a typical turkish buffet. Also Ephesus was a great tour. Felt cornered after attending a rug demonstration.
Don't Miss: Ephesus
Naples, Italy
Really enjoyed the bus trip on the Amalfi Coast, plus Pompei. The lunch at the Panaroma rooftop restaurant was very good.
Don't Miss: Amalfi Coast was great, plus Pompei
Piraeus (Athens), Greece
Of course, visit the acropolis and all in that area. Was a bit disappoined in the Platka area, but it was very hot the day we were there. Probably wouldn't choose to go back to Athens, but glad we went once.
Don't Miss: Acropolis
