Celebrity Galaxy

Sail Date: May 19, 2008

Reviewed: 6 years ago

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Oceanview

We felt like we just spent 27 days aboard our own personal yacht - the entire crew jumped to fulfil our every whim. Nothing was too difficult for them or "against policy" if we wished it and they didn't wait for us to change our minds - they did everything for us immediately. I felt like some sort of royalty. There are several other great ships out there, but none better than this one and we have done about 30 cruises on various lines - 7 in the past 8 months alone. This ship is definitely worth trying.

Pros: Repositioning cruise from Miami to Rome and continused on to the Med - Greece and Turkey on her first seasonal cruise - 27 days total. Absolutly no complaints - couldn't have been spoiled more by entire staff. Food was wonderful - not just quantity but quality and the willingness of the staff.

Cons: cruise had to end finally!

Recommends Celebrity Galaxy (RETIRED)? Yes!

Naples, Italy
Rhodes, Greece
Read brochure on ship's tours - one will sound great to you!
Piraeus (Athens), Greece
They had to stop here because anyone would be disappointed to go to Greece and miss Athens, but it really isn't nearly as beautiful or interesting as the islands were.
Istanbul, Turkey
Incredible history - must see the handmade rugs even if you don't buy and cool down with an iced apple tea!
Kusadasi (Ephesus), Turkey
Mykonos, Greece
Magnificant island - did ship's tour and then stopped for dinner at a small family restaurant on the waterfront - incredible!
Don't Miss: Island of Delos where they are excavating an entire civilization from the fourth century.
Santorini, Greece
Magnificent views but very steep hills - take plenty of time and go slowly.
