An exciting experience all around

Sail Date: October 30, 2006

Reviewed: 6 years ago

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Balcony

The Galaxy is not a new ship but is wearing well. Our cabin was very comfortable. We enjoyed having a veranda to take in the stunning scenery and port activities.
Service was great, the entire staff made every effort to provide an outstanding experience.

Pros: Service and organization

Cons: Pressure to participate in carpet demonstrations

Kusadasi (Ephesus), Turkey
Ephasus is stunning and a historical highlight. Best tour of the trip
Rhodes, Greece
The old town is a must see and can be walked without too much strain. The harbor area is also doable by foot.

Mykonos, Greece
The weather was too rough to go to Delos. Mykonos of and by itself is not very historical but has outstanding scenery and some stunning photo opportunities. Still, Delos is the attraction
Naples, Italy
We had been to Pompei before so we concentrated on visiting the National Archeological Museum. A must see!

Istanbul, Turkey
So much to see, so little time. The carpet fixation was a turn off. Still, Istanbul was the highlight of the stops. A most impressive city
Piraeus (Athens), Greece
We did not take the tour but saw the acropolis and other sites by ourselves. That took a little extra effort but was well worth it.
Santorini, Greece
The village of Oia is really stunning. Marvellous views and scenery. Lots of neat little restaurants and shops. Could have done without the wine tasting stop which provided too much repetitive information and not enough substance
