This was our first cruise experience, and we already feel spoiled for any other cruise line. Embarkation at the Dundalk marine terminal was quite easy, the wait wasn't very long and the staff was very friendly and helpful.Once on board, we felt more pampered and attended to than we ever have. Each and every staff member we encountered acted as though they were only there for us, and all were very friendly and attentive. Never asked for a thing that we didn't get in a timely manner. The food in the Orion Restaurant, as well as the service, could only be described as absolutely outstanding. World class cuisine and attentive service were the daily normal routine. The breakfast and lunch buffets in the Oasis cafe were also excellent with a good variety available. The party band on board was the most versatile group of musicians I've ever seen. Those guys could play any type of music you asked for, and did them all well. In addition, the quartet in the Orion also played beautiful dinner music, which added tremendously to the fine dining experience.Entertainment in the lounges was also excellent, although somewhat sporadic. It did seem that in the evening everything was scheduled around dinner seatings. The only problem we encountered during the entire trip was a group of teenagers trying to get into adult areas and making a big scene when they were asked to leave. The adults actually applauded the "bouncer's" efforts at ejecting one very rude teen from the disco after 11:00 p.m. There doesn't seem to be enough to keep the 16-19-year-olds busy, but then, there never is anywhere. We had a customs inspection which ended up taking a huge portion of one afternoon, and irritated quite a few passengers who had to stand in line for over 2 hours. Whatever the problem was, though, after speaking to other passengers, it doesn't seem to be something that normally happens on a routine basis.Disembarkation was the only bad part of this 11-day trip. After being cared for and waited on for all that time, it's a rude "back to reality" to be asked to leave your cabin at 8:30 a.m. and wait anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours to be allowed to leave the ship, then have to round up your own luggage and try to get it to where it has to be on your own. The personal attention definitely stops when you leave the ship.Overall, we had a wonderful time, enjoyed talking with the crew and servers as much as with the other passengers. We went on this cruise thinking it would be a once-in-a-lifetime trip, but when we got back we knew we'd have to make cruising with Celebrity a regular vacation experience. I would definitely, and have already recommended this ship, to anyone looking for an "it's all about me" experience.
