Our family of 4 sailed on Galaxy 3-3-01 to 3-11-01 7 nights deep Southern Carribbean. We had Mom/Dad and two kids, 23 and 24 yrs old. Embarkation was very smooth and efficient. Our rooms were nice, since we have sailed Celebrity in the past, we knew we would be pleased. Very colorful, tasteful, and let's face it, you don't spend alot of time in your room on a cruise, there is so much to do before sleeping! The food was excellent, we are fussy eaters, and the menu selections varied enough to ensure we all had choices and high quality eating experiences. The wine list was good, however, a few requests we had were not available, so we chose another. There is really too much food, and available all day long. I am sure we all gained some poundage! We ate breakfast once in the main dining room and it was very elegant, but we chose the rest of the trip to eat casually dressed in bathing suits, tops, and sandals in the pool dining areas. There is a wonderful eating area at the aft end of the buffet dining (deck 11) that has a small pool and fountain, enclosed or open air dining- we loved this place for breakfast and lunch - we rarely ate inside except for dinner. The dining waitstaff and beverage staff are very attentive, and wisk your empty glass away before you know it! These people really workhard to ensure the service is top notch. The ship was very clean - always shining the brass, sweeping up the crumbs, and it showed. All common areas were immaculate at all times. The Champagne Bar and Cigar Room, although we never indulged, as we walked through the ship they looked very cosmopolitan. The Stratosphere Bar/Disco is fabulous, the view, the ambience, and the lighting - too bad that on this cruise we didn't have many late nighters enjoying the disco talents of the DJ. Our kids would have hung out there if there had been more action, like on our Zenith Cruise. Entertainment was very good- the Newly Wed Game was a hoot! The Cirque Galaxy show was equal to Las Vegas-we loved sipping our drinks in the theatre at night. The Galaxy dancers were excellent, very talented and entertaining also. Our kids are adults, so we didn't utilize the children's programs, but some of the couples we met we very grateful to have a safe place to park the toddlers so they could go snokeling with us for a few hours. The excursion booking system is great. We booked all ours right from our room via the television set- each night our tickets were delivered under the cabin door, ready for the next morning.Debarkation was a bit chaotic, especially getting the baggage into the correct airline truck for the airport. We were on our own once we got off the boat. This process begs for improvement. This was our second sailing with Celebrity, and I will say that it is a very upscale cruising experience, but not at all stuffy. It was nice to have 2 formal nights for dinner, and really, a nice dress/dark man's suit is fine for these nights. Our vacation exceeded our expectations and you will never go wrong with Celebrity! We had a most memorable cruise experience! One small request: If any Celebrity folk are reading these reviews, "your bed pillows are way too tiny!"
