Review summary

Seriously, this was just a Cruise in between Cruises. If we didn't book this one it would have been well over a year between major cruises, so we kinda booked this one just to keep us sane and have something to look forward too as a break from the Canadian Winter. What's life without a cruise to countdown too? We thought we'd try Western Caribbean for a change and kept costs as low as possible on this one. Any day on a cruise still beats a day shovelings snow or pushing paper in the office. Bought a nice watch...again...that's become a cruise custom now. I'm writing all these reviews of cruises past just to relive some of the good times before the pandemic shut cruise life down. Hope there will be an effective vaccine soon!

Embarkation

No problem...can confirm Miami is a bit smother than Fort Lauderdale RE embarking...

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
If you have cruised with Celebrity before, you will know what to expect...great food. But honestly, I do not have much to compare to since we have only sailed with Celebrity so far. Again, I recommend a specialty dining package, and do not forget the 1st night dining discount.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
I think we actually went to the Fitness Centre for the first two mornings!

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Pretty good, but we generally do not take in the entertainment unless something really strikes our fancy.

Children's Programs

My wife and I are DINKs (Dual Income No Kids)

Service and Staff

Top notch!

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Sleek ships, chic design. Very nice...

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Still roughing it in a non-concierge level cabin. Yeah, right. Cruising is a tough life...like sleeping on ground in a tent... :-) NOT !!!

Ship tip

Go for Celebrity Perks if you can. Glass Show is nice...

Ports of call

Miami, Florida

Just passing through...still flying into FLL and staying there pre-cruise.

Key West, Florida

Really liked this spot! Being a Jimmy Buffett Parrothead makes this place Hallowed Ground! We went to the original Margaritaville for Margaritas (yes it was only 11am, but it was 5 O'clock somewhere)! Then to the store next door for some souvenirs. That was where I finally found my lost shaker of salt...

Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico

4 out of 5
Okay, but it felt too touristy and artificial - like it was just built just for tourists. Turns out, that was the case...

Cozumel, Mexico

Nice, but only strolled around the water front for a little bit.

George Town, Grand Cayman

Beautiful...we did a bus tour of the island. I think we would have enjoyed just lounging on 7 Mile Beach more. The bus tour seemed a little rushed, only stopping at places for 10-15 minutes, if that. I can now say I have been to Hell and back...found that to be overrated! Sometimes it is just better to stroll around town.

Disembarkation

I hate packing up on the last night of a cruise!!!

Great review! Love your sense of humor. I agree, any cruise is a great getaway from our winters here in Canada.

We are scheduled to go on the Equinox in March 2021 but thinking we might delay it. We want to see how the cruising goes before we get back on a ship. We are considered high risk. Glad you enjoyed.
