Review summary

Great cruise, everything went smoothly. Thomas Houser, our TA, had things lined up and nailed down so it was a very enjoyable trip. We'll be calling him again when the urge to cruise hits again.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Very smooth embarkation process. Easiest embarkation so far. Quick and easy.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We ate at the MDR and as usual the food and service was outstanding. Nice bars and coffee shop also as well as the Oceanview Cafe.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Sat in on some of the Cruise Director's activities. Very good.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Enjoyed the stage productions. The musicians performed in various locations throughout the ship and were very good.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Everybody was very helpful from the guest services personnel to the excursions people. Our MDR waitstaff and sommelier were excellent as was our stateroom attendant.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The Equinox is a great ship, well maintained and very nicely laid out.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
The cabin was great. Lots of storage space, nice balcony, quiet, clean and well kept.

Ship tip

Get ready for a good time.

Ports of call

Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida

5 out of 5
Didn't do an excursion, just went out from the hotel to restaurants and shops.

San Juan, Puerto Rico

5 out of 5
San Juan is always a nice place to visit. Went on an excursion that took us to the main points of interest and had a very interesting driver, tour guide. Good stop.

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

5 out of 5
Also a nice place to visit. Our excursion guide did a nice job of pointing out things of interest and the van was comfortable.

Samana, Dominican Republic

3 out of 5
We were tendered and weren't allowed ashore because of not getting approval from the local authorities. We hung around for over three hours and the captain made the decision to raise the anchor and leave, which was the right decision, and about an hour after leaving the ship received word that we were approved to go ashore but we were gone. So other than seeing the island from the ship and watching the police/government patrol boat circle the ship it was kind of a quiet experience. The weather was beautiful though. We had an excursion scheduled and it was refunded so that's about it.

Nassau, Bahamas

5 out of 5
Another good excursion. Visited Atlantis and saw many other interesting sights on the tour around the island. Good stop.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
It was the slickest disembarkation I've gone through. Facial ID so you didn't even have to que up and go through a line.
