Review summary

Generally good except as noted above. One of the biggest issues was the Celebrity ap. It was generally useless. We traveled with another couple and when we texted each other sometimes the text would come in right away but at other times it would take up to an hour. Also, there's no ring tone letting you know you have a text. If you're not looking at it all the time you miss messages. Also, I did not see a way to input a custom event into the schedule. Generally a poor ap. Maybe that's by design so that you have to purchase the internet package??

Food was great. We ate at the Tuscan Grille one night and liked it so much that we reserved for the next night. The premium drink package was well worth the cost. The Drinks and More package was definitely not worth the cost of the upgrade.

The "Deal or No Deal" activity was a disaster because of technical problems. Super Bowl activities were very good.

Comedian was excellent. Whitney Houston show was just average. Musicians were generally good.

The only issues was that it was usually too hot in our cabin, even with the air conditioning on the highest setting. This was a big deal and I would have otherwise given it a rating of 5 stars.

Curious what it was about Samana that was depressing? We’ve definitely been to ports where the local economy is eye opening, and drastically contrasted with the five star resorts and gorgeous beaches. It seems so much of the Caribbean is this way.

Why give only 3 stars for an island that you never touched the ground.The app worked perfectly fine for me the first week of January.....

Quite sad that an "app" ruined your cruise. How about getting together at a pre determined time and plan your day. Did you talk to your cabin steward regarding the air conditioning, or try and complain at the end of your cruise on an "app" to get it fixed?!
