Review summary

This was an awesome cruise, (itinerary, ship and food). All ages will enjoy this ship. If you’re older or have any mobility difficulties, stay midship to forward to save yourself long walks. This was the smoothest and most stable cruise yet out of 20+ cruises.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Embarkation was good, not great. They could’ve used more signage. There seemed to be a little confusion.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Murano, Tuscan Grille, Sushi on 5 and the MDR were all fantastic...and I know my food.

Murano Restaurant

5 out of 5

I love food and Murano did not disappoint. The service was fast, friendly with the highest of etiquette observed. The food was absolutely delicious and abundant. We would recommend everyone try Murano at least once.

Silhouette Restaurant

5 out of 5

Once we over came the initial mix-up of the 6 of us not seated together, we used the anytime dining upstairs in Silhouette. They accommodated the 6 of us easily every night with a first rate wait staff and sommelier. The food was amazing and I know my food!

Oceanview Café and Bar

5 out of 5

We’ve done 20+ cruises and this class of ship has the best designed buffet of any we’ve seen. The line ups are minimal and the food is delicious. I particularly enjoyed the freedom of being able to serve yourself and friendliness of the staff and servers.

Cafe al Bacio and Gelateria

5 out of 5

This is our “go-to” every morning for premium coffee and espresso. The service is fast and friendly and has the best coffee on the ship.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
I only gave this a 4 star because the everyone said (not just us), that the hot tubs could be hotter and I totally agree. I also wish the pools and tubs stayed open later. Fitness centre was fantastic.

Online@Celebrity

5 out of 5

The wifi was very adequate and I was able to get online easily almost everywhere on board.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Top notch and very professional.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
I rated this a 4, only because the first 2 days seemed to be a bit of an adjustment for many new crew members and there was a noticeable lack of servers on the deck. They pulled it together however and the remainder of the cruise had awesome service.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Once again, I rated this a 4, not a 5. We love the ship, but when your cabin is toward the aft, there’s quite a walk to the stairs/elevators midship. I think 1 or 2 elevators a/o stairs closer to the stern would be of great benefit.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Once again, the cabin was standard, clean and an adequate size. Our one complaint is that the bed side tables have been replaced by 3 very small and open shelves which items fall off of. We both missed the drawers at the bedside which would’ve given us much more space for clothing. There are only 5 drawers available of which my wife used 4.

Ship tip

I would suggest for anyone with moderate difficulty walking, that you get a cabin midship to forward. Also bring clips to hold the towels on your deck chairs.

Ports of call

Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida

5 out of 5
We love Ft. Lauderdale. It’s a clean city, nice beach and the water taxis are easy to use and enjoyable. We had a great stay and wonderful meals.

Oranjestad, Aruba

5 out of 5
We love Aruba. It was extraordinarily hot and humid (October), but the beach and ocean temperatures were fantastic. Aruba tends to be expensive so be prepared for that. Very safe and friendly people.

Willemstad, Curacao

5 out of 5
It rained most the day, but again, was very hot and humid. Willemstad is a beautiful city and easy to navigate.

Kralendijk, Bonaire

5 out of 5
Snorkellinging and swimming in these clear waters are fantastic. We only saw a bit of the area as we spent most of the time in or near the water.

Key West, Florida

3 out of 5
Key West is only a 3 star for us. We did a snorkel and sail on a catamaran to what they called a reef. As an avid snorkelled, I was very disappointed. There was virtually nothing to see but sand and some fan corals in small clumps. The town itself is busy and I’m sure has some interesting history if you do a tour or “hop on hop off”. I found some interesting stores right at the port. As for us, we aren’t interested in re-visiting this area.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
Disembarkation was fairly quick, but I only rated it a 4 as there was quite a lot of walking.
