We went on the Equinox for the 9 night cruise. There were some issues for others with embarkation and the dock the Equinox was at. We didn't have any issues. Our cabins were ready by 1:30PM. We did guarantee concierge and got C3 cabins (they weren't near each other when first assigned but I called Celebrity and they moved us in the same class to cabins next door on the 9th deck portside aft). The cabins were kept spotless by our room attendant, rooms were cleaned no later than 10AM daily and night turndown was done by the time we returned from the shows at 8PM prior to dinner at 8:30PM. The crew was fantastic and pleasant. Food was basically good, although some misses in the MDR. Onion soup with no onions, bland tasting main courses but everything is subjective to taste. Alejandro the cruise director was very funny as was Captain Leo (we went to the Liars Club show in the Equinox Theater one night and it was hilarious).
Ports were great and we enjoyed ourselves. Only other issue is the rude people who feel they can save loungers (supposedly the Celebrity staff monitors and removes items from loungers where people haven't been for 30 minutes or more- this never happened). First day at sea there were many empty loungers and people said oh my daughter, son, etc is sitting there. Finally I just sat, nobody stuff there the chair is free. We got smart and just went and did our sunning from about 9 to noon and had no issues finding chairs, although we would see loungers with stuff on them and nobody at them the entire time we were up there. One family finally wandered up after 3.5 hours of saving chairs on the upper deck to find the chairs in the shade...they snootily asked the pool guy to move the loungers for them into the sun. Then when they saw we were leaving they were going to take ours...but thankfully I taught my boys well and they stayed in the chairs until someone walked by and told that newer family they could take our chairs. Seriously it is rude and inconsiderate to save things like that. One day I did ask pool person to remove towels that had been sitting for over an hour and he did, in the entire 4 hours (one hour empty and 3 hours of us using chairs) NOBODY came to claim them.
