My wife and I just returned from the 11 night cruise aboard the Celebrity Equinox. This was our fifth cruise and second on Celebrity. The ship was in great shape and the staff on board were terriffic. Ports of call were Grand Cayman, Cartagena Columbia, Panama,Costa Rica, Belize and Cozumel.

We were not impressed with Cartagena at all, the city was dirty, crowded and the Old Town was filled with aggressive street vendors and taxi drivers. The one good thin about Cartagena is that at the end of the pier was a small bird sanctuary with flamingos, parrotts and other exotic birds, also there was a small souveneir store and cafe that sold wifi for $3 for an hour, it was a fast connection and worth it.With the exception of Grand Cayman and Cozumel the other ports really don't have much to offer so an excursion or stay on the ship is reccomended. We took the the Mayan Ruin/ River Ride in Belize and found it to be a nice trip. The bus ride to the ruins was quite bumpy and took you thru some very poor areas, The ruins were interesting but we didn't have much time since we still had the river ride ahead of us. After the ruins we went to the Black Orchid Resort for lunch and then headed to our boat ride.

The boat ride was fun and about two hours long, it took us along the Rio Wallace and we saw crocs, howler monkeys and many types of birds. We even saw some manatees. The ride ended back at port.

As I said before the Equinox is a wonderful ship. We opted for the fixed dining and the dinners for the most part were very good. We did have dinner one night in the Silk Harvest and that too was very good. The buffet at the Oceanview was standard cruise buffet but good and changed daily, although the cruise was sold out, there was always a seat to be had. There are 3 other specialty restaurants on board along with a specialty coffee shop.

Entertainment was neither good or bad, the theater shows for the most part were good, I just had some issues with the live music on board, very generic and boring at times.

Since this was an 11 day cruise it catered to an older crowd, few children but there was a good mix of people in their thirties and forties. there were enough activities on board to keep you occupied.

The staff on the Equinox are extremely friendly and professional, always ready to help you in any way. I would highly reccommend the Equinox or any Celebrity cruise, in fact we booked on board for next March, same ship, same room, just a different itinery.
