This whole trip on the Edge felt like I paid for suite class experience and received an inside stateroom experience.

Review summary

Overall the Edge suite experience was underwhelming compared to the suite experience on other Celebrity ships. Having an upscale, sophisticated, and private sanctuary for suites guest is great but the value and benefits are negated when you can't staff these areas properly or provide the basic amenities. Total suites for Edge is 176 vs. 50 for the Summit or 66 for the Eclipse or 111 for Reflection. They did absolutely nothing to stand out or be exceptional. Compared to our Royal Suite on the Summit for example our concierge provided us with our picture with Captain Kate in Michael's thanking us for being Captain Club members and suite guests. It was great to have a sail away on the heliport for all suite guest once during that cruise.

Embarkation

3 out of 5
The embarkation experience was smooth and quick from luggage drop to being on the ship. The whole process was less than 10 minutes. The 3 star rating was because my Victorinox Lexicon luggage had a 4 in gash once our luggage was delivery in suite that wasn't there when i dropped it off with the porter

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Luminae, Fine Cut Steakhouse and Eden were all fantastic. Le Petite Chef was just ok and wouldn't do it again on any of the other ships. The picture wasn't crisp and clear but very fuzzy / out of focus. Staff there felt like they were going through the motions to get everyone out for the next seating.

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5
The behind the scenes tour had 23 people and no lunch as compared to other Celebrity tours on other ships. Everything was rushed and watered down for the tour…total waste of money.

Entertainment

Spent time in the spa and not any of the shows

Children's Programs

No children

Service and Staff

2 out of 5
The staff in Luminae, Fine Cut Steakhouse and Eden were all exceptional. The areas of concern was with butler and room steward services. In the suite they didn’t fulfill the standard amenities consistently or at all: received the daily delectable only twice during the whole cruise, pillow selection menu was a head scratcher for our attendant and had to ask them to call another sky suite attendant on deck 9 to find the “GOOD” pillows, purchased drinks and more package and had to keep reminding staff to refresh the mini bar daily, no welcome flowers, truffles once and no access to Luminae breakfast for room service.

Ship Quality

2 out of 5
The ship overall was clean and well-maintained but the lower rating was for ship design. Specifically, the specialty restaurants located around Grand Plaza. Having live music throughout the dining process in the specialty restaurants was ridiculous and poorly planned; there were times in every restaurant that I couldn't hear the waiter or have a conversations at the dinner table. There should have been some sound damping or even lower the volume would have helped. The wifi on board was a joke for a new ship compared to other cruise lines including Royal. The app kept losing access to the in-room controls for lighting, AC, etc and couldn’t even control the TV through the app. The reservations were always out of sync and most of the other reservation added do not even show in the app at this time, specifically the 3 spa visits I scheduled.

Cabin / Stateroom

2 out of 5
The sky suite on deck 12 had a reoccurring knocking for about a half hour every night between 12:30 and 1:30 am. The staff said they never heard complaints before, or it must be the kids on holiday cruise. Simple Google search shows this is an ongoing problem and all over cruise critics website. After we complained over multiple days we were offered a new suite on deck 10.

Ship tip

Don't book a S3 on Deck 12 to avoid the banging.

Ports of call

Key West, Florida

It was just ok; lived in Jupiter for 16 years and visited many times.

Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico

3 out of 5
Only did some shopping and no excursion.

Cozumel, Mexico

Only did some shopping and no excursion.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
Experience was inline with previous disembarkation on other Celebrity cruises. Process was quick after finding luggage.

@bobduck1993 Being recognized isn't my point of the review; the point is they scaled up the “ship-within-a-ship” concept for suite guests and missed the mark by not following through on the easy stuff. Doing sail aways on the heliport, providing great customer service or providing a picture as a thank you builds loyalty. Not getting truffles or flowers is a miss that isn't high on my list but paying for stocked minibar each day and having to remind them to bring Coke Zero and sparkling water is. I'm still loyal to Celebrity and don't plan on changing. In fact, booked 2 future cruises on board.

So sorry that you did not receive the type of recognition that you expected. I know when you are promised so much you really do expect it! Maybe another cruise line is in order for you?
