We had a great cruise on a great ship; we would have done another week! The transatlantic cruise was so very relaxing. The weather was warm, mostly sunny with temperatures in the 70s, so be prepared with short sleeves...we packed for cooler weather and were unprepared. The seas were mostly calm but was some rock and roll a few days.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
We were on the ship 15 minutes after the car dropped us at the terminal. The embarkation could not have been any easier.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
The food on the ship was great! We went to 3 specialty restaurants and enjoyed them (Raw on 5, Le Petite Chef, & Fine Cuts). We ate most meals in Luminae and were very pleased with the service and both flavor and variety of meals.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
We enjoyed a lot of the game shows on board and even won an archery competition. Darren led a lot of the games in The Club and was a lot of fun. The trivia games, Yes or No, Battle of the Genders, etc... there were a lot of things from which to choose. There were more than 7 sea days so we were able to take in some of the Beyond the Podium speakers and enjoyed them very much.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
The entertainment each night was fun and we enjoyed the production shows. We were fortunate enough to see Ashlie-Amber Harris, who is our favorite performer we’ve seen on any cruise.
Children's Programs
There were only two children on this cruise.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
The cruise Director, Simon, was great. I hope we have him on another cruise. There were so many staff members on the ship that there was never a time we had to wait for a drink or meal. The cabin attendant was excellent.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
The ship was clean and well maintained as it is only a year old.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
We had a true balcony with a longe chair, 2 chairs, and a table. It was the biggest we’ve ever had. The balcony was in the path of the Magic Carpet and it was cool to see it pass by our deck. As the captain said in a talk, it is not an elevator so there were never people on it as it moved. The cabin was large and clean, maybe our favorite cabin yet. The shower is large for a cruise ship and the water was hot. We liked that there was a night light under the sink cabinet for illumination at night so there was no blinding full light at night. We also liked that there enough outlets and, more importantly, USB outlets to charge electronics. It was a great cabin. We liked it so much that we’ve booked the same cabin on the Apex.
The port was 70 degrees yet the top of the mountain was 30. The temp was a nice change. There are great views from the top. We drove through a forest, what looked like the moon, and city on the trip.
