4 Night Western Caribbean (Miami Roundtrip)
Sail Date: April 25, 2011
Ship: Celebrity Century
Cabin Type: Oceanview
Traveled As: Family (older children)

The ship although small and older was extremely clean. The crew was always cleaning elevators, railings, etc. They were not bothersome at all and it was a pleasure to see. The staff attended us well even when there were issues. Tips were taken daily which was ok...it did not lower attention to detail as we have seen on other ships, but ratheer the staff was attentive even having my shirts pressed and back in time for dinner.

Food and Dining

food was ok...the last trwo nights were better. The asian cafe was better at times than main seating.

Entertainment

shows were good, the games and activities fro adults were marginal which is normal. I enjoyed the Kareoke and dinner shows.

Service and Staff

handle overcharge issue well. Had shirts pressed and back the same day.

Ship Quality

ship was small but very clean. On other crusie ships we have seen papers on the floor and fingerprints on everything. The Century nstaff handled this well.

Cabin / Stateroom

Larger than usual and the closet space was excellent. Had three large closets and plenty of room left over in the cabin. Shower was great with alot of water pressure.

be careful with the beach clubs that are throughout the island. We were told it was free by rental car agent. The club required armband that was $2 for a chair or $12 for use of all the facilty and minimum $10 food purchase. It was a scam i was unaware of. Not a biggie except i rented a jeep to tour the island and did not want to stay at one location. My teens wanted to play on the water slides and inflatables and was forced to pay or hear the grumbling. We stayed for three hours after paying the $36/ and $2 for my wifes chair. Plus $24 in food. We had wanted to eat local fanfare. After we left we visited the cathederal and hopped beaches around the island. Good time.
Don't Miss: reneted a jeep. Drove to southside of island and pass the usual stops of vendors. Pulled off the road onto a beach that was pristine and clear. The sand was beuatiful white but windy.

Pros: Ships cleanliness and decor. Staff was helpful and courteous.

Cons: Pool was small and crowded the entire cruise. We usually swim in the evening but the pool closed at 8pm.

Recommends Celebrity Century? Yes!
