Overall a good experience

Sail Date: December 24, 2010

Traveled As: Family (older children)

Room Type: Balcony

This is an older ship and therefore did not have many of the amenities that the newer ships have. The shopping onboad was not impressive. The buffet, everyday meals, was not that great either. I believe that all 7 members of our party felt the same about the food. Great titles on the menu but poor delivery on quality of the food. Variety of wines were OK.
The service in the dinning room was excellent. Our waiter and his assistant were on top of everything. The brunch on the 4th day was very good and with a lot of variety.

Pros: The friendliness and experience of all the staff members

Cons: The food left a lot to be desired !

Recommends Celebrity Century? Yes!

Food and Dining
The dinning times were good. Our dinning room chairs, were actually "rocking chairs"....need new furniture for the dinning room...and as previously stated, the quality of the food is poor. Could be greatly improved upon.
Ship Quality
Since this is an older ship, it's in need of a little TLC. The carpeting is worn in many areas of the ship. The ship was clean in all areas, particularly all of the public restrooms.
Cabin / Stateroom
I have cruised on other ships, and the size of the Veranda stateroom was much smaller. The balcony was very clean, not rusted, painted, clean floor. The bathroom was clean although there was an odor coming from the drains.
Service and Staff
The staff is without any doubt very helpful and friendly at all levels. One of the members of our party, pressed the emergency button in the sauna in the mens area and it was over 15 minutes before anyone even noticed. Since this is heat we're dealing with, I did not feel this was taken care of in a "TIMELY MANNER"....might want to check on this.
Entertainment
The music was excellent-we had a guitarist, piano player, comedian and the theatre staff. All events were very entertaining.
George Town, Grand Cayman
Most of the stores were closed since we arrived on a Sunday.
Ocho Rios, Jamaica
Poor weather that day, but the excursions were fun.
