Celebrity's New Century gets an A

Sail Date: April 07, 2007

Reviewed: 6 years ago

Traveled As: Singles/Friends

Room Type: Oceanview

The new Century was really nice and it didn't look like an old ship at all.
The decor was simple yet tastful and inviting. The martini bar was the best; the frozen wall and bar top was a super feature along with the changing lights. It was a treat too to drink from Waterford crystal glasses in Michaels, the the ambiance of the room made you forget you were even on a ship.

Entertainment was lacking, but we were out for a relaxing trip so it wasn't a big deal. We couldn't get enough of the Cat's Pajamas though and looked forwward to their preformance every night. Also wished they had made provisions for an adult only pool and jacuzzi; the kids took over that area which made it too noisy of an area to stay in.

All in all a great trip and will book another trip on her again.

Pros: Service and food was terrific. Cabin beds were super comfortable. Martini Bar was to die for. And what a treat it was to get a cold soft towel before getting on the tender in Grand Cayman!

Cons: Cruise Director did not know how to motivate the crowds; way too timid and relaxed. The entertainment was not that great, except for the Cat's Pajamas! The location of the safe in the revamped cabins was very hard to get into. Missed having an adult only pool, jacuzzi.

Recommends Celebrity Century? Yes!

Ocho Rios, Jamaica
Too many shops with the same stuff with lots of of pushy locals trying to sell you something. Also did not like the beggers along with sidewalks.
Don't Miss: Negotiate down the liquor costs in the TAj Mahal! It works!
George Town, Grand Cayman
Great port with all the new shops, but too bad the phone lines were down we were in port...couldn't buy anything on credit, cash only.
Don't Miss: 3 for 2 liquor at all the stores!
