Celebrity Century Cruise Review to Caribbean - Western
Ship: Celebrity Century
Cabin Type: Balcony
Traveled As: Family (young children)
Reviewed: 7 years ago
Review SummaryWe booked cabins 1244 and 1242 (Sunset verandah) for a family cruise with adjoining cabins. Despite three attempts prior to the sailing date to ascertain whether the verandahs were overlooked, nobody from Celebrity was actually able to tell us. On checking in we realised that both verandahs could be overlooked from the Sunset Verandah on the deck below, but more important, these verandahs did not have glass, but metal rails, which our four and two year old grandchildren could crawl through and fall on the deck below. We immediately tried to change cabins - but had to explain this three times at the Guest Relations desk. Ultimately no suitable alternative was offered. The suite sizes were not as large as advertised when we booked, and the verandah size was not as quoted originally. (These have subsequently been changed on the internet web site), but the schematic deck plan shown is still not accurate. So if you have young children or grandchildren I would avoid these two staterooms. We found the music very dull - there didn't seem to be much 'life' around the ship. Not one of our best Celebrity cruises.
Pros: Staff and food
Cons: Overlooked balcony
