Our Century cruise (6/10/00) was just about everything that we had hoped for! The ship was beautiful, the service excellent and the intenerary very good! Embarkation process was handled very nicely (took us about thirty minutes to get on board). The ship itself is very beautiful, rich, deep woods, wonderful artwork and very CLEAN! Our cabin was what we had asked for (a 9000 series in the back that fits a family of 5 very nicely). Word of warning...this ship has a serious defect in the propeller system and when they back up in port every morning, or leave port, the entire back half of the ship shakes violently like an L.A. earthquake! It will definately be your morning wake up call! Cabin service was excellent! Vesna, our cabin steward, did a great job. Room Service was also very nice, especially for the children! Food service was also very good on board. Dining Room service was excellent (Duman and Joe, our service team, were very good at taking care of both adults and children alike!). Food was what I expected (much better than RCCL and much less than Crystal). I have been a professional chef for over 20 years; my expectations were met. Buffets were done well, better than most ships; plenty of room with no real lines to speak of. It always amazes us that 2000 people are on board and sometimes it feels like just a few hundred! Shows were really good! Particular kudos to the Entertainment Director, Jim, as he is a very talented and jovial host (best of the 4 cruises we have been on!) Sad note, the entertainment AFTER the main show was not very good. The showband, Oasys, did not work well with the people who wanted to dance. They were not very good (RCCL ships MUCH better in this category!). Ports were good. Number One is Key West, great town! The snorkling and Fury sailboat were great. Cozumel and Grand Cayman are also great ports. We did snorkeling and Stingray City last trip, but should not be missed. SKIP JAMAICA!!!
