5 Night Western Caribbean (Miami Roundtrip)
Sail Date: February 09, 2009
Ship: Celebrity Century
Cabin Type: Inside
Traveled As: Singles/Friends
Reviewed: 8 years ago
Ship itself is nice, in pretty good shape, but some wear and tear. The staff is friendly and courteous. Food is good, but not as good as on other Celebrity ship. Destinations were good. Music and entertainment were good.

Did receive charges for minibar we did not incur and had to have fixed. really unhappy that we diid not get voucher credit for this cruise as after Royal Caribbean bought them they no longer honored our future cruise credit and were very unhelpful and rude about this.

Food and Dining

Spa food was great. Dinner selections OK and not as good as had on previous Celebrity ships. Service exceeded expectations. Sandwiches not as good as before. Pizza could use some retooling to be better crust.

Entertainment

Stingrays band and music trivia by the pools were great! Liked comedians. Shows were so, so. Acrobatics were good.

Service and Staff

Staff was professional and courteous. Dining staff were excellent!

Ship Quality

In need of some repairs-missing bolts, cracked cement by stairs. No real good area to run or walk for exercise outside. Kept clean.

Cabin / Stateroom

Older, but kept clean. Not enough blankets and pillows too hard. Hot to scalding water in shower uncomfortable and not able to regulate temperature.

Very touristy on south end near port. Rented scooters to get around and that was a great way to see island and visit beaches. Capt. Tony's rumrunners hard to beat.
Don't Miss: Mel Fisher museum was neat to see.

Snorkeling and beach amenities at 7 Mile Beach are great. Go to Sea Grapes. Walk to town a little and save a bunch on your fare. $2.50 instead of $7.
Don't Miss: Beach, snorkeling, watersports

Pros: destinations, decor and amenities

Cons: Cost, wrong charges

Recommends Celebrity Century? Yes!
