The cruise line booked our hotel the night before we left and our return hotel when we arrived back in Miami. We were overcharged for the rooms and we were unable to change hotels without a $300 penalty. Book your travel yourself, you will save money.
We booked an excursion through the cruise line, snorkeling with Fury. The price of the excursion was ~$70/pp. We got on the boat in the dock area, the boat moved maybe 100 yards, threw down the anchor and we "snorkeled" in the bay where the cruise boats land. We have been to Cozumel in the past for a vacation and were very excited to get to snorkel again, we were very disappointed to be snorkeling in a bay, we saw 20 fish if we were lucky. The boat was mainly concerned about drinking beer and playing really bad '80's music. We asked for a partial refund and were denied, we got to snorkel, they didn't advertise that we would be able to swim with the crusise ships!
We enjoyed Key West, in fact we're going there for a weeks vacation next month. We would have enjoyed more time at that port.
We travel often, this was our first cruise and it will definitely be our last. We are fortunate enough to be able to travel in a very nice, comfortable fashion, this cruise did not live up to our expectations and it was a huge disappointment to both of us. If you're expecting a great time to relax, and you're a non smoker, I would not recommend this cruise ship or cruise line. They weren't very accomodating and changes were impossible. The only good thing I can say about the cruise: they had very good staff.
The best part of the trip was when we landed in Miami and were able to get off the boat. But the ship didn't have our connecting ride to the hotel, we waited 2.5 hours for them to finally get a van to take us to our hotel. It was the perfect ending to a terrible experience, it was $3000 wasted!

|Ship Quality||We found the ship a bit small, we kept seeing the same people over and over. We found the ship had the smell of diesel fuel every place we went.|
|Cabin / Stateroom||
Our stateroom - ha! We had a concierge level room with a balcony - very, very small. We were near the end of the ship so it vibrated all the time, one night we were woken up by extreme whistling in the room because of the wind, our balcony door was closed, it was wind from the hallway. There was constant noise in the hall. The best part of the room: we were alone in there. Although that being said, our stateroom attendant bothered us everynight as we were getting ready for dinner to deliver some papers - every night. They ignore the do not disturb sign.
They do not change sheets on a 4 day cruise, yuck!! I change my sheets at home every other day, this was really hard for us to get used to, the bed felt gross on the 3rd night. Who knows how often they change/wash the comforter, I don't want to think about it.
|Service and Staff||The staff were nice, they always said hello. They were very good at selling. We found the ship photographers a large pain, they wouldn't leave us alone. Even when we said we didn't want a picture they insisted and wouldn't let us pass by.|
|Entertainment||The activities were annoying, not everyone is 5 or 65 waiting to play silly games. The entertainment was lame, we ended up leaving during the shows. There was a juggler one night, he was quite funny, we stayed to watch him. It's a sad summary to say, the nightly bingo was a highlight.|
|Food and Dining||
The food in the buffet restaurant was ok, nothing great. The pool food was terrible, not worth getting up from the prized sun chair. The Grand Restaurant was good, our service was great, we loved our assistant waiter, our main waiter was a way too full of himself. We dined at 6:30, too early for our liking but the 9:00 alternative was too late. Our ship was oversold so we were unable to change, even if we wanted too. We are breakfast in our stateroom every morning, and every morning they got it wrong. They are very consistent on getting the orders wrong. The food arrived cold most mornings and items were missing - pancakes w/o maple syrup, bagels w/o cream cheese - even with these items checked on the order sheet.
It was my birthday on the first night of the cruise, my husband had arranged for a cake with our travel agent and confirmed it when we arrived the first day (he told me this). They forgot the cake until my husband asked.
