We have cruised on this ship twice in our cruising experience and our best cruise experience was with it and our worst cruise experience was with it. Because this cruise was oversold (yes can you believe it?) there was no ability to make changes to better meet our expectations. The 2 most irritating issues with us (a roll away bed that was not sleepable and the loction of our dining table) were not things that could be fixed...we tried. The ship was clean, and the service was generally good, but some of the little things were the animal shapes made out of towels in our stateroom, Christmas decorations in the upper dining room (plenty in the lower dining room), and overall communication about various activities. I didn't think the cruise director was all that enthused about his job, but it didn't interfere with what we interested in. There were 2 particular shows we really enjoyed, but the other 3 were just ok. Photographers were less intrusive than on other cruises we've been on. We met our goal of getting away to warm weather and relaxing for Christmas, but the overall experience was just ok.

The "Shout" program and the comedian were very good!

Our room was fine, but the roll away we needed was very bad.

On other cruises, the cruise director would give a talk about the ports to give us an idea of what to expect if we weren't doing a tour. Things like "If you are not doing a tour, there are these things you could do......" or "When you reach the exit from the port, turn right to find the major shopping areas or go left to find the beaches. It will take you about ...minutes to walk or taxis are...etc".

Pros: Service continues to be good.

Cons: The dining experience. Food was a huge disappointment. We have sailed on Century before and have had wonderful meals. On this cruise, the food was mediocre at best, we were 8 people seated at a table for 6, and we were situated in between 2 service areas, so the noise level was high.

Recommends Celebrity Century? No.
