Review summary

We sailed on the Celebration out of Jacksonville on February 15th, returning February 19th. The port in Jacksonville made boarding and debarkation very easy. We dropped our luggage at the curb, parked the car, and were on the ship enjoying a drink in less than an hour. On Monday, we did the self-assist debarkation. They announced we could leave the ship, and were in our car pulling out of the parking lot 35 minutes later. The cruise itself was totally enjoyable... a wonderful 4 days. We had an oceanview stateroom... it was very clean, and was straightened up for us more than once every day. The food was great... with the large selection of items I can't imagine that anyone would have trouble finding things they really enjoy. Our dining room staff was more than friendly and helpful... anything you wanted they did their best to get for you immediately. My wife had ordered a birthday cake to be served after dinner on my birthday... it was not your usual token cake you get in most restaurants. It had a small chocolate sculpture on top, and personalized with my name... big enough for everyone at the table to have a piece. The maitre'd came to the table, sang with the staff, and personally gave birthday greetings. The midnight buffet with ice sculptures, food sculptures, etc. was beyond belief... both in appearance and taste. We went to the shows on board every night... and they were all top quality entertainment. They did a Broadway Musical review one night that was fantastic... costumes, singing, dancing... honestly Broadway quality. For any golfers wondering... I took my own clubs in a rolling travel cover... had no problem getting them on and off the ship... and was great to have my own clubs. I played a round of golf at Cable Beach Golf Club in Nassau and had a great time. The greens were some of the best I've ever seen. There were 4 of us from the ship that went on the golf excursion, and we had a great day of golf. Nothing to not recommend about this Carnival Cruise. I needed and wanted 4 days of total escape and relaxation... and that is exactly what I got. It made turning the big Six Oh seem not bad at all. My wife and I will book another Carnival Cruise later this year.

We had a snorkeling excursion planned, but weather was too cool and it was cancelled. 55 degrees in Freeport, and the local schools were cancelled due to cold weather :-)... honest. We instead did the glass bottom boat... it was fun, nothing special.

My wife did the Power Boat/Snorkeling with the sting rays excursion... she had a great time while I had a great time on the Cable Beach Golf course.
Don't Miss: For me... putting on the immaculate greens at Cable Beach.
