We took a 4 night cruise out of Jacksonville, Florida aboard the Carnival Celebration ( first time with Carnival ) during early January, sailing to the Bahamas. We soon found out that this was probably not the best time to cruise. It was too cold to walk on the outside decks at night and some of the days also. The beaches were so cold and windy we spent the time covered with our towels. The Ocean was a little rough, but the ship was so small that it made this trip the roughest of the 8 others we have taken. Our cabin steward and our dinner wait staff did a tremendous job so there are no complaints there. The lunch and dinner food was very good with a great selection but breakfast in the buffet was very bland. The ship was clean and well maintained although it is showing its age. I believe it is the smallest and oldest of the fleet. We even had to return to the port in Jacksonville about 6-8 hours early due to heavy fog. This cut the casino and liquor serving time by about 3 hours on the last night. I guess the worst part of the trip was probably the weather although the ship is showing its age and is too small. We much prefer Royal Caribbean and will sail them next time.
Just a so so cruise
