A nice, too short, cruise

Sail Date: August 26, 2006

Reviewed: 6 years ago

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Oceanview

For an older ship, the Celebration was in very good shape. The rooms were nice and the overall cleanliness was very good. The elevators were extremely small and we found we did a lot of walking up and down the steps because it was hard to get on during the busy times of the day i.e dinner time. The casino was small but laid out well and the ship's many bars and the drinks they served were fine.

Pros: The food was excellent and presentation was very nice

Cons: The staff was friendly but did not seem to want to learn our names like on other cruises

Ship Quality
Service and Staff
The ship staff was friendly but did not go over and beyond as on other cruises we have been on. The did not seem to want to learn our names and when we wanted to change our dinner seating the maitre'd seemed not to want to bother, although we did get it changed in the end.
Entertainment
Typical shows on board, nothing really exciting.
Food and Dining
The food was excellent, much better then I expected and the wait staff was very good.
Cabin / Stateroom
The room size was comparable to other outside cabins, the beds were very comfortable and each person got two pillows which were also very comfortable.
Nassau, Bahamas
This cruise did not go to either Key West or Nassau because of Hurricane Ernesto. Instead we went to Freeport, Bahamas. All we can say about Freeport is don't bother. Most of the shore excursions were cancelled and the one we took which was a tour of the island was Boring!
