Great first cruise

This was our first vacation on a cruise. We had heard a lot about cruises and honestly speaking it just met our expectations. The food & service on this ship exceeded our expectations, but the ship and the entertainment could have been better. This ship is going to be retired from their in 2008. So I would not pay a lot to take a vacation on this one. We got a very good deal for our 4 day cruise and I am happy about it. But I wouldn't have been if I had spent for the suites. This ship is small, which is why it can sail out of Jacksonville. The itinerary was perfect for us and so was the price. Bahamas was incredibly beautiful and the people out there were equally good. One thing I was disappointed about was the photo studio. They are out to get you.

Pros: Excellent food, perfect itinerary, impeccible service..

Cons: One of the oldest ships in the fleet, Photo studio is a scam.

Recommends Celebration (RETIRED)? Yes!

Shows were good. But the design of the main entertainment room was bad. There were very few good seats. Other common entertainment areas were also not great. Again the performers/conductors were gr8.
Ship Quality
This ship will be retired in 2008. One of the oldest ships in the fleet. Nevertheless very clean and tidy.
Food and Dining
Excellent food everywhere except the pizzeria. Would have given 6 smilies if they had a better menu for room service.
Cabin / Stateroom
Good size for a small ship. Very clean and well maintained.
Service and Staff
Exceptional service. Everyone was going out of their way to give us the time of our lives. Absolutely no complaints.
Nassau, Bahamas
We went for Snorkelling at Nassau and it was an okay experience. Most of the corals were dead but the fish were beautiful and you could feed them. Then we rented a scooter and went around the town. We went to Fort Fincastle and the Queens Staircase, drove around Bay St and checked out the parliament. I recommend doing this as you can checkout almost everything in Nassau within 2 hrs. Then we went to Atlantis on Paradise Island. The Aquarium is a MUST SEE. And so are the rides. We were late and the rides were closed but looking at the Mayan Temple ride, I really regret not doing it. We will come back for this one day..
Don't Miss: Atlantis rides and Aquarium, Queens Staircase
Freeport, Grand Bahama Island
They take you to the main town center for 5$ each way. There is a small market out there (The international market is mostly closed). The Lucaya beach was okay. But we took a private taxi and went to see the Gold Rock Beach which is 26 miles away and it was unbelievably beautiful. We also saw the Disney owned land where they have the "Interceptor" boat from Pirates of the Caribbean. Next to that are also the underwater caves in the National Park. Overall we had a wonderful time during our 8 hr stay at Freeport.
Don't Miss: Gold Rock Beach.
